It wasn't so obvious that the other clones were just filling up the roster. They were good character choices but had a lazy moveset. Dr. Mario and Pichu were just lazy choices.

Really, only Ganondorf wasn't that lazy of a choice, even if his execution was.

Sorry brah, we only know of three characters that were planned for 64 and those are Mewtwo, Bowser and Dedede.
I don't where anyone got the idea that Peach, Pit and Meowth were also planned since there's no official source to say so.

I don't think Falco, Roy or Young Link were lazy choices either. Falco is a major character in Star Fox who acts kind of like Fox's rival, Roy was interesting because his game wasn't out yet and Young Link was good because then Sakurai was able to showcase both an adult and child Link. That's just my opinion anyway.
