Speaking of which, I read Doctor Sleep, the sequel to The Shining (no, not Stanely Kubrick's The Shining), recently and holy ****. I was blown away. Amazing book. 10/10, would read again.

I do think the logic for Impa as from Diddy Kong is astounding.Sheik? You mean Impa.
Not only would she not add anything that Sheik can't already do, but Sheik was based off of her anyway. Impa isn't nearly as important as many people make her out to be.
In OoT, she plays essentially the same role as 6 others do as a sage. That cameo appearance in the painted glass in Wind Waker? All the sages were in there. It's nothing special.
The only thing she has going for her is Skyward Sword. You could say the same for Sheik in OoT, but at the same time, Sheik was included because of the perfect opportunity to create a phenomenal moveset for Zelda. Phenomenal in uniqueness, not necessarily execution.
Impa is honestly nothing special.

Well, the thing is, there's really no other good opportunity to showcase him. Like with the Pokemon reveal, I feel there will be other good chances down the line to reveal a Pokemon character, like a Direct or E3.

Personally, I'll take news of any kind. Items. AT. Stage. Disconfirms. Characters. Master Hand. Yoshi should just be revealed to shut up the people that don't think he is a lock.

That's what I was thinking too. At this point it makes complete sense to reveal him now.
There are other characters who won't have an obvious chance to be revealed, like Falcon, Ness, Lucas, Snake, Ike... So really I'd be rather upset if Dedede isn't revealed.

I don't understand why Sakurai revealed Sheik on the Brawl Dojo so darn late.
You'd think she would've been shown off a week or a month at most after Zelda.
The only reason I can think of is that Sakurai wanted to keep the fans guessing until it was almost time for Brawl's release.
