Rising Uair Help?

I love playing C. Falcon, he's just so fun. However, one of the main problems I have is doing a Uair while rising into a short hop.

I can do it on the platform of FD by shorthopping with the control stick and hitting A at the same time, but when I try to do it off the edge (Uair -> Knee or something like that) my jump ends up getting used when I hit up on the control stick. Therefore, instead of jumping into a knee I plummet to an SD :(

How do you guys do it? Quick fingers and going from Y/X -> Up on C-stick?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You only have to be tilting up to uair. If you push it all the way up, you'll be more likely to doublejump.

The C-stick is safe too, if you can get to it fast enough.

Ah, it depends on what you'd rather use. For example if you want to use the control stick, practice in 1P mode. If not, then just use the C-stick and try to get faster. =p

Yeah, I c-stick all my aerials with CF. My friend Biggy is way better than me so i listen to him. Just try it and see what works best for you.

I claw (not colbol's claw) by placing my index finger on Y and my thumb on C-stick. Middle finger goes on R. Thumb rests on C-stick but also presses B and A. When I JC grab I move thumb to Y and index to Z. Left hand is normal. I find this helps a lot with my tech skill, although I still can't SHDL. I got a friend to claw and he was able to multishine 6 times the first time he tried.

It took me about a week to get used to clawing and a month for it to stop hurting although it would have been sooner but I played too much. I played Peach until I got used to it because I don't know her at all so I was only focusing on clawing, and claw gives you precise control of floating height.
