Ridley, why is he so requested?

I have never seen one perfectly valid reason against Ridley that doesn't automatically go to his size though. They either think he's too big or they don't want his Other M design.

And honestly thinking that anyone else in Metroid that's not Samus or Ridley can get into Smash is kind of pushing it. It's a two rep series at most in it's current popularity to Nintendo. And why would you not put the series most important bad guy in over say Kraid. Who is probably third in line if anything.

Well I've seen one (they don't like aerial-based characters, and they felt Ridley would be such) other than "I want all these characters more", both of which are valid opinions.

Also, Dark Samus could be a Dr. Mario-esk late addition clone. Let's not discount Dark Samus as totally impossible.

Y'all need to get over this "every viewpoint is valid" thing and realize that life has strict facts. There are some universal truths.

Water is H2O.
Humans are carbon-based life forms.
Ridley wasn't "too big" to be about 2 feet taller than Samus in Melee's opening sequence (roughly Bowser's Melee height), thus, Ridley is not too big for Smash.

We could have a cloned metroid fusion Ridley he was just Ridley except smaller... And black! And if Ridley is in smash then he has to be an aerial king

Are you telling me that a characters' size in Melee has nothing do with their size in Smash Wii U=???

Because if so, Samus' size is the same. Link's size is the same. Most of the Melee characters' size is the same.

How about instead of "disproving" me with your "relativity is the answer" questions you give an actual argument or universal truth to "disprove" me=???

Playable or not, the fact remains that Ridley is not "too big", and that said argument is right there in that picture. You can either accept it or believe a lie.

Because people either haven't played enough metriod games to request a character that isn't ridley or lack the common sernse to realize he is a boss in the smash series and shouldn't become a playable character.

Sakurai hates clones even if dark samus is metroid prime with absorbed phazon suit. Then again capt falcon and Gannon clone still exists.... And dark samus would need a diffrent name for newbies... How about dark samus is just called metroid prime?

I personally think he would have a interesting move-set and would be a good addition. He could use his talons and tail and beak very quickly and has the ability to shoot plasma and steam out of his mouth which would make interesting grabs too. We don't have a character like this so the originality would be high with the move-set. My thought process would be that he can aerial offence jug with speed in air and size while most likely being susceptible to damage due to his skinny frame. He has many instances were he grabs things and samus and could make for some interesting grab-air combos. Can't say how heavy he would be but it would add to the diversity that this game could use.

Then there is the fact a ton of fans know him and is the main-antagonist of one of the most successful Nintendo franchises for the last decade.

If Sakurai hates clones then how come half of the Smash 64 characters have several borrowed moves, there were about a half dozen clones in Melee, etc.=???

Still, Sakurai wouldn't add a real clone unless it was a end of development thing. That's the only scenario I think we could see Dark Samus as a playable character.

Those are old games you are referencing. Look at brawl and see the clone cuts. Dark samus is not impossible... Just unlikely. And samus sucks in every smash except melee which is not relevant but it irks me knowing that link, yoshi and samus usually suck in smash

Only real argument I could put up against Ridley in smash is if they can't make him kid-friendly enough but then again the have Snake's A$$ in it and that's graphic enough. Oh and the falcon knee but that's from all the boners it causes
