Rice University Smashers?

is there anyone that plays smash that goes to rice university? i'm always looking for new people to play.

You can try posting in the Houston Thread, but there aren't any huge Houston tourneys at the moment.

I'm not sure any of the "well known" Houston smashers go to Rice.

There are definitely smashers at Rice (myself being one of them)...if you're looking for a game just visit the Lovett Commons during/after lunch...you'll be able to find a game no matter what your level of play

Yeah Lovett is where the Smash is at. I'm the premier Dr. Mario player, and we have plenty of people who specialize in non-top-tier characters (**** you, Peach).

If there is nobody in the commons to play (doubtful), come up to room 309 or 305 for a game (the controllers are better at least)

I graduated last year, so sadly I'm not around to play anymore. Betcha the Junior/Senior Lovetteer smashers remember me though.

Also, the Rice gaming club runs a Smash tournament every semester or so. They banned me from playing

We're actually kinda always in varying degrees of smash...we havent set up any tourneys ourselves but if we had enough players from outside willing to come it would be easy to do...the only real reason we havent is because if it was just in our group we know EXACTLY who would win...come to think of it...at any given time we ALREADY have three tv's set up with smash, let alone what we could scrounge up

To expand on this, we have a dedicated TV in the commons with 24/7 Smash. The controllers are torn up to hell, so we're trying to get a setup where we can all bring our controllers down and either use our own or those common ones.

In any case, that TV always has players immediately following lunch and dinner. So if you ever want to come to Lovett to eat, we have better-than average food on Thursday (and recently, Friday) dinners, so come by, get some food, and play some ****in' Smash!
