I was gonna post this up and update 2x daily with updated bar charts for a month or so but,

since it has been locked I can't really do it now, so this is the data I have so far for the 15 minutes it wasn't locked:


Boys: 28
Girls: 0

14: 1
15: 1
16: 3
17: 1
18: 6
19: 2
20: 2
23: 2

If a mod would please allow me to, I will continue my thread and keep up to date w/ results w/ bar charts for a month. (no unlock?/make new thread? I just request a simple y/n)

NO MORE POSTING SEX/AGE, THREAD WAS CLOSED THIS WAS ONLY MEANT TO POST THE LITTLE RESULTS I HAD FOR THOSE WHO PARTICIPATED.

Not to sound all up-in-arms or anything, but threads like this have to be closed down for security reasons, man. There are plenty of people on the internet who want to find out age/gender details for less than healthy reasons. Combined with the occasional "location" info and you're just begging for sexual predators and the like.

If something nasty like that did happen, SmashForums could be in jeopardy and I doubt the police would appreciate "but it's just a gaming forum" as an excuse for anything. Thus, for the safety of the forum life, the mods lock threads like this.

I know he's not asking for locations, but the point is that some people DO have locations posted (like the poster). Suddenly, you're putting your age/sex/general whereabouts + a hobby into who knows what kind of person's hands. That can turn sour sometimes. =(

What happens when some poor poster comes along saying that she's a 14-year-old girl who lives in XXXX, Ohio or whatever? It's not worth the risk to the SmashBoards community for a bit of curiosity data. Better safe than sorry in this case.

Even so, usually, even revealing specific information does nothing. If I say I'm a 12-year-old girl from Los Angeles, what is a potential rapist going to do? **** every girl that looks 12 years old in LA? He doesn't need someone on the internet to do that.

To Yigguth: Some care, I find it interesting, was always curious. Population of smashboards users may change though in a few months, interesting. It could mean different people on these boards.

There are many threads out there like whats your least favorite character and such which seem less interesting to me, it was a good try.

Like I said, if its security reasons, then its not worth having this info then.

Dude.... no its not. Just because the word Brawl shows up in the thread doesn't mean the thread is about Brawl.

The thread is about info of Smashboard members. That doesn't belong in the General Brawl Discussion Forum, now does it?

Ill give out my name, age, gender, location and IP, if anyone wants it. why would someone go after you because they know where you live? If they are truly a rapist/kidnapper/internet flamer then why couldn't they just find some local kid? The only incentive someone has to go after you is description, saying you parents are rich, you are supah sexy, you like pie etc.

for the tally, I'm 14 and male.

To Xarias: hmm... I guess in that way, the "What is your sex and age" thread is not related. Its arguable but I agree with you that it wasn't meant to be here.

To Yigguth: ? I don't want to start a new thread unless they allow me to, this is just the results for those who wanted to know.

To Enshoku: I will not be gathering anymore results, unless allowed. Your participation was greatly appreciated though.



Wow this thread is getting mean, just in case if anyone took any of my posts as an insult/provoking, I deeply sincerely, truly apologize if I hurt anyone. No misunderstandings?

I guess my original thread didn't work out, I did not mean to expose people to security threats.

I am not continuing the sex and age thread, just posting the results of it. No more posting age/sex.

Results for now look as I predicted, all male mostly around older teens and young 20s. I'm curious how the population will change in a few months, Brawl will be a must have like Wii Sports, opens door to many new gamers.

Hey let me throw off your data. I am 27/male and so is my friend that smashes. We both turn 28 in the next few months. We started the original smash when we were 19 I think. We also have friends that play who are 22/male and 18/male so there you go 4 more guys :)
