Ok 1st of all I tried searching for this game to see if there was already a thread about it and i couldnt....

Ok So most are familiar with the Resident Evil Series and Resident Evil 4, that came out for the PS2 and Gamecube in 2005. Now Capcom has redisgned the game and are making it for the Nintendo Wii. This game will be taking advantage of the Wiis capabilities such as the motion sensing.

Now... You can watch the teaser and and some gameplay footage here:

http://media.wii.ign.com/media/853/853595/vids_1.html

Also gamespot has said that this Game is confirmed for Summer of 2007

http://www.gamespot.com/wii/action/...ct=convert&om_clk=mostpop&tag=mostpop;title;2
(Yes I know at the top it says Umbrealla Chronicoles but read the passage)

I have played this game for the Playstation 2 and I can honestly say it was one of best games for the Playstation 2. That said, I can only imagine it being better on the Wii

Opinions??

EDIT: Alos, is this game called biohazard??

Not much of a graphical overhaul, but the vids reminded me of how great this game is. I'll probably get it.

And what's Suplex? Didn't see that in the GC version.

This game is called Biohazard in Japan. Dunno why it's not here, Biohazard is an awesome name.

Yes I like Biohazard as a name too, but when it came out for the PS2 and GC it ws called Resident Evil 4 (which isnt a bad name at all) and if they change the name just for the Wii edition i dunno it might confuse people. I DUNNO. lol

And I dont remember Suplex in the PS2 version either.... But from the video it looks nice =)

I just found out they are making a Resident Evil 5 for the 360...

and personally this game looks better then Umbrella Chronicles....

This game is one of those shooters where you dont move and you advance to the next area automatically, so you do NOT need a nunchuck for Umbrella Chronicles.

Well I never beat the PS2 version.... and besides this one looks absolutely fantastic. Where could they have gotten the idea of remaking the game for the Nintendo Wii? And it looks like it has some new plots in the story

Alot of wii games are basically ps2 ports. I've already beaten RE4 for the GC so i'm not gonna waste my time and money buying a remake of it.

This reminds me of a Biohazard 3 (Nemesis) arcade game where all you have to do is shoot and does the moving for you.

RE 4 was one of my favorite RE games (next to the remake of the original)
so I might consider getting it for the Wii

btw, RE 5 looks mad fresh

I would love to play RE4 (Wii edition) but i'm not that hyped to buy the actual game! I would rather try and rent it (In the town im living we have no renting places for games) or borrow it from a friend or something! Now about RE5 no matter what I will find a way to play it!! I might give to one of my friends the Wii and take the X360 or something like that...I HAVE to play it!!

first to address the matter of the suplex:in the main game you can only perform the suplex on the creepy cultists in the castle by shooting them in the leg then when they're kneeling you walk of press "A" then watch their head get squished

and if you go the the nintendo website it shows RE5 as a future release for the Wii so can stop having a heart attack over it

Here's something helpful I would like to know. Is it possible to obtain the P.R.L. 412 Laser Cannon on the Wii version? I would imagine so. If so, how do you actually get it?

Yes, the Wii version has both the GC and PS2 extras. You unlock it by beating the main story on Professional once.

I figure if you played the game already, there's no need to buy it just for the updated controls. As fun as RE:4 is, I don't think it justifies 40 bucks for a couple of new contents and further waving of your wiimote. Plus, you can always by the GC version which is just as good.

Thanks for the info.

I bought it to see if it compares any better to the GC one; I never played the PS2 one, so I decided the bonus content to unfold different parts of the story (aka Seperate Ways) and Wii controls were worth it.
