I managed to find a couple of those gamecube style LodgeNet controllers. They are made by Hori and there are 7 wires that get soldered onto the controller board. It doesn't come inside of a little case either.

If anyone has tried those joysticks by 30 rock games, I'd love to know how they work out. As much as I'd love to help out Elzevir and grab some from him, if I can save 5 bucks plus shipping on each one, I'd like to do that. (or if Elzevir wants to sell 4 of his complete assemblies for $40, including shipping, that would just solve my dilemma entirely ;) )

My 30rock OEM stick arrived a few days ago I forgot to post my review here.

The X axis is a little loose on arrival, and the Y axis is tighter. However this wasn't an issue because that seems to be the deadzone area for most games I have tried out. I can dance dash in super smash bros, smash attack properly, dash pivot jab. Everything the gamecube style replacement couldn't do.

I have about 1-2 hours worth of use on the stick and it's been fine so far.

After about 4 hours use I am starting to see white powder and the stick has become considerably looser when gently moved. Although I can still perform dash pivots, dash dances, dash u smash etc.

Sounds good. How's the sensitivity/range? Is it the same as a original one?
Moving across the character select screen, the replacement stick finished about 0.5 to a full glove length faster.

The deadzone on the replacement feels larger but as soon as there is resistance is when your guy starts slow walking. With my original stick I have to push it a little to get it to talk. I figure the deadzone is fine since the game doesn't recognize that input anyways.

Dash dancing is a little easier with a good condition original stick. It feels like I really have to slam this replacement left/right, but it can be done.

So I'm searching online for replacement sticks... I've never ordered any online before, I've just been using my two nintendo brand controllers I've had for years and kept calibrating it as the sticks got worse, but it's about time I need to get replacements.

Has anyone come across this - http://www.nintendorepairshop.com/products/71-N64-Controllers/2383-N64-Controller-Thumbstick-Repair-Part---New---original-style/ ? From the "Nintendo Repair Shop" site. It says it's made just like the original, and if you read the description is says "also look for our new n64 sticks made like the gamecube ones!" so it has me believing it's not pot based like the GC ones. But it worries me there are no reviews and that they have over 70 in stock.

Where have you guys bought yours? I can't seem to find any on amazon or ebay at the moment
