Replace Brawl's battlefield by Melee's battlefield in PM?

Hi. I play Project M on Dolphin, (to play it everywhere I want, on my laptop) and sadly only a few stages works in 60 fps : only those who seem to have a few details (polygons, textures, i guess) on them. This is, in this perspective, a good thing that Final destination is the one from Melee. :p In Brawl's battlefield, the game fall down to 50-45fps, which makes a big difference. I prefer to play on Yoshi's island everytime i want to play on a small stage with platforms, as it works in 60 fps.
Of course, this is not important, and concerns only dolphin players. If this is not too long to change, and if you guys don't see a problem with melee's map, that would be nice.
(Maybe it would be more logical in a way too, for PM's identity : final destination and battlefield are the two basic map coming from the SSB series itself, so they should have the same appearance. I suppose.)

Of course the PMBR will cater to your specific and individual needs so you can play happily on your computer... =/

That's not "me", that is the dolphin players. I'm only suggesting this. If this is too long to do, or if there is any reason why it shouldn't be done, that is okay for me. (But again, I think this would be more coherent for PM, as melee's FD was replaced. I also saw that brawl's BF was slightly changed to match melee's BF. Any change in any thing starts from individuals, so I am just suggesting this, to see what you think.)

Melee FD was imported cause of the walls, and I think its bigger too.. Not sure.
Brawl Battle field works perfectly fine as it is with the minor edits that were done. It also gets rid of the Ledges from Melee so it can be the perfect neutral stage for all the characters since some characters can struggle with those deadly ledges from Melee. Plus, if you want those ledges, there is the StarFox level (Can't recall its name!!) with ledges just as unforgiving.

Oh I didn't know it was possible. This is indeed a better solution, because I can replace more texture stage to make them also playable on my pc. Thanks.

@OP play on Wario Ware. It's the least laggy stage in the game and is laid out somewhat like battlefield.

How about you do that in your own save file instead of asking the PMBR to include in the next release, which additionally we know will not be out for a while.

(We never got an exact date but from a couple of statements PMBR members made I'm certain we're not seeing a non bug-fix version of Project M until at least after Big House 4.)

Lylat Cruise - and yes, they need to fix those ledges. And speaking of stages, the Ice climber brawl stage just should've gotten actual ledges and removed the entire sequence going into the ocean, this stage would be awesome if made this way.

Seems like a lot of extra money to spend just to play smash. Could just a get a Wii for cheap.

not to sound like a **** but..are you even remotely familiar with netplay? if you're playing people in the same state, chances are you're playing with 2 frames of lag or less. netplay is going to be the main reason smash competitvely grows within the rest of the year (once smash 4 flops)

regardless, even as y-l said that cpu is probably overkill. i just know an i3 can run it since my gpu recently died and i have an i5 3570k and i'm playing with onboard with no issues, and since dolphin utilizes only 2 cores the difference is negligable for just using dolphin at least.

you're looking at a build that is well in the low 200$ price point to play pm/melee netplay..not to mention it's also running windows (hopefully) so it's not just dedicated to dolphin

Netplay will let you play with many many different people which will improve your gameplay vastly especially if you don't have access to a lot of local scenes. The new cpu shouldn't be just for Dolphin it should be an investment for a good casual computer for browsing/work etc.
The on board graphics should be able to run PM however it will probably not suffice for computer games.

I have a Wii, but I don't like to play on console. (I started to play PM since I succeeded to play it with dolphin.) I especially like to play wherever I want, with my laptop.

By the way, i play with xbox 360 controllers as i don't have GC controllers usb adapters, but i have difficulties to do short hops and some other ssb stuff that requires a bit of timing and precision. Do you think the xbox 360 pad is not well made for SSB, and that i should buy GC adapters? (To be more clear, I'm asking about if there is any difference between the analogical ability of these two pad's buttons. If you know anything about it.)

Edit : I have doubts about the xbox360 controller, since I'm not a pro about SSB games. :p I never succeeded to be good at wavedashing for the few tries i did at the melee era with gc controllers, so I'm not sure if it is the pad, or me, that is the issue.

Of course I know what it is. I just never considered it to be a good place to play smash other then fooling around. I can't even stand playing with a Wavebird. So online play just kills me.

The Netplay community is actually very serious. There are a lot of very talented players and we host tournies. There is generally 2-7 frames of lag depending on how close your opponent is to you. It does take some getting used to for 5+ frames, but it is definitely playable. Nothing at all like wifi though which is 10-20+ frames of lag. Generally I don't notice the delay at all.

2-1 pad buffer is honestly not noticable, even for more advanced tech. keep in mind teching from a fall is hitting shield 20 frames before you land..so 2-1 is hardly impactful on your game at most; muscle memory will adjust very quickly.

you could always also overclock your usb port to get like a 500-1k polling rate which which would make up for ~ 0.5 - 1 frame delay (assuming gc had a 125hz polling rate for the controllers, and that's being generous, could very well have been 100 or less), essentially making a 1 pad buffer game = to lan

i will admit the games i have to play 5-6 pad buffer are rather annoying, but doable

Mm, I always tech with in 4 frames before hitting the ground, unless I panic. Yeah I could get used to it. but I failing something because it was within 7 frames and even though I reacted, the game was delayed so I got hit anyway. Happens and its frustrating.

I mean that 0-2 frames of lag that Brawl/PM had before PMBR patched it was nasty and sticky enough. It's just not my style.
