If it were a taunt then you couldn't stop in the middle and be left vulnerable. At least with constant crouching you can attack in the middle. :D

Not really, just has to be annoying.
DDD's crouch is a taunt, as is kirby's repeated standing and crouching, and dashdancing.

I agree. And this thing is a taunt with everyone except that it is a coward taunt in the way that you don't leave yourself open.
