Renting Hotel Rooms for Smash...

Is this possible? There's a small town I live in who wants to get serious for smash and we don't have many options for venues, lan centers, or houses so I thought of renting a hotel and I was wondering, has anyone done this before? How did it go? What should be kept in mind for doing this sort of thing? I just think it would be quite awkward/funny if someone rented a room and then a ton of kids just go inside a room with a bunch of TVs and Gamecubes. But I mainly did this to hear opinions/experiences.

Someone move this to tourney discussion plz.

Hosting at these type of venues is extremely convenient for attendees. I was in your shoes before; I hosted CAST4 in a banquet hall of an Inn in a tiny random town in Alberta and I still had players from around CA/US come. Renting hotel venues is a fantastic idea, do it. Just tell them what its for.

People played in their rooms as well as the hall at cast4 for like 48 glorious hours, I guess its really up to the owner though, but it should be ok.

I like to rent hotel rooms after I win a smash tournament and invite lots of hot ladies.

I see what you mean, it seems quite awkward seeing a gang of kids all going into the same room, but don't worry, if it's a Smash tourney thing, it's actually quite normal.
