With every character you face, try to measure how far he can hit someone from the edge by edgehopping and doing an aerial. After that, by keeping that perfect distance you can outspace any of his options. So I've come to realize that whether I'm playing 64, Melee, or Brawl, I always get hit when my opponent is on the edge, even if the player is a complete scrub. I always try to attack, get too close, and get hit. It's pretty minor, but when it happens every single time it starts to add up and get annoying.
So in general, with any character, what should I do when the opponent is on the edge?
this.Real men who play with honor allow their opponents to get back up on the ledge unhindered.
except falcon get up attack over 100, haxYou can also tell his options by how much damage he has.
Generally, people do not roll or get up attack above 100 percent as it is MUCH slower.
If they are hanging on the edge I wait for them to stand up/ledge attack/ledgehop, then I fsmash.^^
assuming the person is HANGING on the edge, not recovering towards the edge.
With which character do you f-smash?If they are hanging on the edge I wait for them to stand up/ledge attack/ledgehop, then I fsmash.
most of the players who play pika just fsmash, and it gets so easy to avoid. i myself prefer to usually jump and gimp and not wait for him, either jump and nair/fair if he is far, or if he is near i sometimes jump behind him and bair onto a wall (does not work well on congo ). another way to go about it is edge hog then ledge hop to in front of him (more to the center of the stage) to uair then continue with uair chains to bair (works really well vs mario/luigi/kirby).What do you recommend doing?
