Ness should be last, if he's against two people one can just perform suicide jumps in order to kill his PK Thunder while the other gets him off.

disproving determinism
Mario should be higher imo. Good recovery, can play keep away with the fireballs, decent priority too. Also fox can still run away and laser camp right? Seems like he should be decent at least

Kirby should be number one. Against two people Ness's recovery comes to mind, while kirby just pwns.

I'd still think that Pikachu and Kirby are clear top tier no matter if its 1vs1 or 1vs2. They have some gay stuff that makes them hard to approach no matter what. Other chars like Falcon and fox on the other hand, get wrecked on 2vs1, because they cant do the combos.

why would you want to grab in a 1v2 unless the oppoent's don't know how to punish. Time for my critique

Ness sucks in 1v2's, Ness doesn't have the range

Pikachu deserves first due to being able to actually recover and get out of combos
Kirby is 2nd
Fox is really good also due to aerial priority
Falcon is good overall, but has a difficult time getting out of combos and one hit basically means death. however, aerials really help
Samus is much better as it is diffuclt to combo her.
Yoshi sucks in 1v2's as you can't DJCC combos anymore and the other player can stop DJC's/ up tilts

here is my list.

Top Tier/Out prioritize/out maneuver tier
Pikachu: Up B gets out of combos, up tilt has massive priority, throws actually help, great at approaching and camping

Kirby: up tilt and back air, does well legitimately vs. most characters, just great at camping

High tier/Combo or kill or be killed tier:
Fox: Massive priority, Lasers can legitimately camp in 1v2’s compared to other projectiles.

C.Falcon: Incredibly good at combos regardless of the 1v2, high priority, has a weakness to Kirby however

Mid Tier/High camping ability/outprioritize
Mario: Mario can reasonably camp, Mario is quite good at getting out of combos and n-air/back air help. Throws are good for 1v2 type throws

Samus: Samus can get out of combos mad easily, back air camping is quite easy. Issue is bad matchups and a weakness to some of the better dubs character (Falcon, Pikachu, etc.)

Low Tier/Low combos/low camping ability
Ness: Low range in general, 1 hit = death usually, down b is punishable good grabs, recovery is beyond terrible

Yoshi: DJC’s/DJCC’s are easily punished, up tilt can’t properly combo

Luigi: Can’t properly combo in 1v2’s Up b and all aerials are easily punished.

Bottom Tier/no proper combos/no camp ability
Jigglypuff: Way, too, difficult to camp in 1v2’s, way too light, throws and rest combos don’t help if you die at 60 percent or LOWER

DK: Grabs rarely help anymore, DK is too big a target, projectiles will win and will win badly

Link: Can’t projectile camp 2 players, 1 hit means death.

I just wanna point out again though that this isn't for playing people who are at your level. It's presuming that the 1v2 match is relatively even, meaning the 2 players are likely much worse than the 1 player.
that does not make sense, tier list should take character potential and not the player's level into account.

I have played A LOT of 2 vs. 1 since no one at my school could really compete with me 1 on 1. The people I played were not bad tho, and were usually able to win about half the time 2 vs. 1 against me.

TOP:
Kirby
Pikachu

HIGH:
Mario
Fox

MID:
Samus
Falcon
Luigi

LOW:
Jiggly
DK
Yoshi

BOTTOM:
Link
Ness

Anyone who has a bad recovery is even worse in 2 v 1. With 2 people edgeguarding one throw off the stage is often death. This is why Falcon and Fox are lower. Combo ability doesn't matter as much cuz they will almost always be interrupted. This is why Samus is higher. Really its about getting in quick hits and being able to recover. Edgeguarding can be dangerous because it can result in the other person edgeguarding you.

Well if you're 1 vs. 2 against people who are at the same level as you, chances are you're gonna get your *** kicked pretty hard, and only take off 2-3 stocks. That would be most accurate I guess, but it would be pretty meaningless.

It's not looking at level, it's just looking at level relative to opponents.
that is not for the tier list though, tier list should be objective who is the best char for 2v1, and not player dependant.

Being a lover of 2v1, I can personally vouch the DK and Jiggly should be switched. While jigglypuff has good recovery and combos shes left open by the lag of her attacks in a 2v1.

Now while yes she has a good throw, and decent aerial priority to keep good spacing with her opponents. If you get the right combination of players/chars shes ****ed no matter how much of a air camper you are. If she gets grabbed near a edge at low percents shes as good as ****ed as much as ness. Anyone with a drilling/stomping dair outside of jigglypuff herself (easy to di out of) can gimp her ****.

Reason I put DK over jiggly is simply that DK can multitask much easier than jiggly can. His ability to grab quickly, get people off stage coupled with the ability to break out of combos with up+b makes him a bit better of a choice. Both DK and Jiggly have even recoveries in my opinion. Its just a matter of DK being a better multitasker. To simplify think of DK's moves that are effective and think of jiggly's (same) and put them in a 2v1 situation. Poking with her nair isnt going to solve all of your problems.

Changed the OP list to thegreginator's, but I moved Ness up (for reasons explained in OP).
You are taking direct bias intoy our fact that Ness is good in 1v2's.

Ness sucks in 1v2's, use G-reg's. Placing someone 4 spots over the spot chosen by others is rather ridiculous.
