Both the Project M and Melee brackets will have $1,000 pot bonuses, and many top players will be attending both events.
For Melee, you can expect to see Juan “Hungrybox” Debiedma, Weston “Westballz” Dennis, Jose “Lucky” Aldama, Edgard “N0ne” Sheleby, Antoine “Anther” Sledge, Jason “Bizzarro Flame” Yoon, and Sam “Laudandus” Rohrer among many others. As of right now, Melee has over 160 entrants. Hungrybox, N0ne, and Anther will also be entering Project M singles.
The turnout for Project M will be even more impressive, with over 300 entrants as of right now. That makes this the largest Project M tournament since Paragon 2015. Among these entrants, more than half of the top 50 ranked Project M players will be in attendance. This includes Thomas “ThundeRzReiGN” Thammavongsa Jonathan “Sosa” Sosa, Malachi, Kyle “Switch” Carlon, Alex “Hyperflame” Mireles, Michael “Emukiller” Silbernagel, Adam “Strongbad” Oliver, Anthony “Gallo” Gallo, Forrest “MrLz” Griffin, Parker "Boringman" Boring, Raseen “BP” Khan, Ripple, Marshall “Marshall” Stock, Peter “Pikmon” Woodworth, Flipp, David “iPunchKidsz” Vargas, Jacob “Dirtboy” Smith, Messiah “Phresh” Williams, Jake “Venom” Hefner, Corey “Machiavelli” Fields, Aero, Tyler “Fuzz” Graves, and Noughrilla. Several of these players are being flown out to the event thanks to a large donation drive that took place a few months ago.
Among the competitors will also be The Balcony’s official mascot, Balcy the Bro Sun.

With all of the entrants present, there will be players representing 33 different states and 6 different countries.
Bigger Balc is also being featured as one of the tournaments in both the Project M and Rivals of Aether Championship series. This will provide high placing with points in their respective circuits, which will conclude later this year.
The tournament itself will take place at the end of the month on May 27th and 28th. The Balcony team is teaming up with SSBM Tutorial’s David “Kira” Kim, host of Socal Colosseum, in order to deliver an even better tournament experience.
The event will be held at Cal Poly Pomona, the same venue as Super Smash Sundays. There will be plenty of space for players and spectators alike, allowing for the tournament to run on schedule and for all attendees to stay comfortable as they compete.
You can register for the tournament on their smash.gg page here. For more information, you can check the facebook event page here.
