I've been watching an E3 2007 concerned episode of "Spike TV's Game Head" tonight.

As I understand it, the episode will be available in it's entirety ---->here<---- as of tomorrow, according to what they've said at the end of the episode.

Anyway, the episode had Geoff Keighley interviewing the Reginator and challenged him to a game of Wii Fit's soccer ball head butting game.. Afterward they began mincing a little trash talk, during which Reggie hinted that they would could be going head to head again, "online" and "in a game coming real soon." Geoff attempted to pry for more information, saying something like "Oh yeah in what? Smash Bros? No, that game is offline, right?" Reggie just gave a sneaky, grinning expression, saying things like "maybe!"

I doubt any of these quotes are exact, but be sure to find the episode and judge for yourselves. This actually made me feel a lot more confident that Brawl will have online play.

There has been several unconfirmed reports of online compatbility for Brawl, this doesn't REALLY prove anything, but makes a strong case.

Personally, I wont believe anything until either Sakurai or any other Nintendo official who knows about Brawl makes a statement about it.

I remember at an event last year someone said the reason they created another Smash Bros was for it to become the first title to go online, but with the delays it isnt the first.

If they were playing that soccer related minigame, I'd say it's possible Reggie could've been trying to imply that about Mario Strikers. (But I haven't watched the video or anything. I couldn't be entirely sure of the context.)

They already confirmed online play during E3'06
They've changed their mind on stuff before. Something confirmed that long ago doesn't mean as much, especially if they won't re-iterate it any time recently. I'm not saying I don't think it'll be there but I think as far as evidence goes this isn't enough.

Reggie was probably talking about Strikers. However, Geoff pretty much "opened the door" when mentioning Smash Brothers. We'll have to see, I guess.

Still, what I like about Reggie is that he definitely knows how to be the president of NOA. That's for sure. The guy has a good idea of how to be sneaky and evasive when it comes to these kinds of things.

I doubt he was talking about Strikers, reggie is the type of guy that would have said like,"well you have strikers, thats online."

I have this really odd feeling there gunna announce that its online in one of the last updates for the website. They probally want to suprise us or something.. If the guy didnt mention it, that means hes probally saving it for a suprise or something. Wii is able to function wi-fi, such as Battle Revolution and Strikers. Most likely, Brawl will be too. Dont get yourself down and actually be hopeful.

They'll wait to confirm it. A few people were disheartened when Reggie was listing all the online Wii games and Brawl didn't show up (during E3). But he also didn't mention DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, which will also be online.
It still surprises me that they would hold back on one of their biggest hitters for 2007. Curious to see whether Super Mario Galaxy or Smash Bros Brawl will take number 1.

All I know is that he was talking about Strikers but when Smash was mentioned he was smiling. Indicating he knows something about that, clearly, that smile tells us it's online. Reggie has always been the one to hint at these things, if you look back on any of the videos or interviews with Reggie he's always hinted at something people have wanted to know and just smiles about it and says "Maybe it is!"

But he didn't say "Maybe it is!" this time, he just smiled. Which is a big enough of a hint as is. I'll say, they'll reveal online through the site by September.

You may be on to something there, Falco400.

Reggie's reaction could've just been because he got a little nervous about delivering bad news. And I mean, he wouldn't say anything anyway because he obviously doesn't have the clearance to drop a bomb like that on G4 all impromptu-like.

It could be Strikers or BWii. SSBB is too far off for what he's implying.
accually i think it would be exact the opposite, if Strikers were already announced as well as BWii. It just doesn't sound like a reggie thing that he's do.

Keep in mind when being interviewed about Metroid (if it would be online) his voice went high, he smiled, etc.

There is no freaken way it wont be online!!!!!!
This is the most competitave biggest game nintendo has ever had!
As for as I know.

Nintendo would be completely stupid not to make it online!
Supermario strikers is online, and Supersmash bros will be online too.

Obviously Nintendo is aware of us talking. If it wasnt online they would have anouced it early.
not right before the game is reliesed.

Why don't they just tell us already!!

They going to lose lots of buyers if it doesn't go online anyways...

You say that now but you know that wouldn't happen. Offline tournaments will grow even Bigger if brawl is offline

Some people have to much pride to go to them, or just don't plain want to XD

But come on guys, Sakurai himself said that he would like to implement an Online mode for Brawl, but it just wouldn't be all that complicated (no Leader Board, maybe no random matches, the stuff that many Online portions of games usually have). I don't think Sakurai is going to try to disappoint his fans THAT much.

Either way though, I could care less if we get Online. Brawl seems amazing enough as it is, so I know I won't be brought down by the 'Offline' product.

After I moved away from home, most of my Smashin' friends are pretty far away. Having online would be a great way for us to smash it up like we once did.
