Ok for the past few days I've been trying to get good vids of me vs cpus as tests so later I can get actual matches of me vs people online. I seem to have a problem though. The vids I upload are a little shifty, but they have really good quality if that makes any sense lol. Here is what I am talking about.

Any help would be appreciated.

So you get good quality but ****ty FPS (Frames per second).

There's an easy solution. Use FRAPS, put the game to the lowest resolution you can while recording (Assuming you use the p2p kaillera client to record gameplay input beforehand). This takes less stress on the computer and lets you record with higher FPS.

Recording matches can be really such a hassle. Especially when your comp isn't that good.

The way I record online matches, is I use the kaillera record option, record .krec playback with Fraps, which takes awhile, usually up to an hour, depending on how much matches are in the playback. Also, you can't rewind or forward the playback. To pause it, I'd just minimize the screen.
Fraps will put recordings in .avi format, which doesn't compress the video, so the size will push up around 3 GBs per match. So you'll need a lot of space, or a separate hardrive.
If you want to edit the video, compress the video, and/or increase the video screen width(so it will be full sized for youtube), use Windows Movie Maker, or Sony Vegas(I prefer WMM, because the rendering speeds on Sony Vegas are long). And then you upload to youtube.

Other then recording playback, the time for doing everything else usually depends on how good your comp is. It takes hours for me, hopefully it won't for you.

This is all done using Pj64k, it's much easier on Mupen64k, because Mupen has a quick capture feature.

Yeah man record the video using the input-recording features of your emulator like WOTG explained. This puts very little stress on your PC while playing, and playing that recording later will basically just play the match back as if it were actually being played again. At THAT point, you record it with Fraps. It'll slow down the playback but render a perfect video, and not mess with the actual match when it happened

Off topic: I see you're from Missouri. I ask anyone who comes into the 64 section from Missouri this same exact question

What location in Missouri do you live?

Alright guys. Thanks. I didin't use any of those techniques lol and it took me about 2 and half hours when it was all said and done. I used camstudio and edited with a trial of power director. here are matches that I played in set against ssb guitarist:

match : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvzWus4Abns
match 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h25iFXEsAWc
match 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2N_EY-G_Nw

What you guys think of the quality? Btw any tips on my game with fox and falcon?

PS. I am from Poplar Bluff MO and I ENCOURAGE ANY AND ALL SMASH PLAYERS TO COME DOWN AND PLAY SSB64 AND SSBM ( i am really good at melee 2 and I like it alittle better although i like both a lot)

disproving determinism
For the fox vid: It seems like you only approach with dair. Dair has little priority and range and will be easily outspaced by other moves. At the least mix it up a bit and try to approach with fairs or maybe lasers. Similarly try to learn some combos besides utilt dair because that can be DIed easily (i'm thinking utilt fair usmash type stuff). Also don't try to edgeguard yoshi with the shine when yoshi can jump through it.

Also try to play someone better (at least someone who doesn't suicide so much haha).

Use FRAPS to record, for more FPS (those vids FPS are so low) then compress it using a program like VirtualDub or Koyote Video Converter

and of course you need a good or decent pc not a crappy one

Here's an easy way of recording full 60 FPS videos from project64 even with the ****tiest pc

You can use cpu-slow-down software such as !xspeed pro to lower the overall speed of your pc.
First, you should set the cpu at the desired speed (i.e. -10, it depends on how slow your pc is). This will make EVERYTHING go at slo-mo.
Then, playback the match you recorded with p2p client. It'll playback at a lower speed depending on what speed you selected with the software mentioned above.
Finally, record the video. Hypercam or any other light-memory recording software should work (remember to set it to record at 60 FPS, Uncompressed). When you choose to go back at 100% speed (with !xspeed pro in this case), video will play at full 60 FPS with no dropped frames (if this happens, try lowering the cpu-speed a bit more then try recording again).

For the sound you can later on record it using Jabo's DirectoSound 1.6's Audio Logging option, then sync it with the video with any video editing program.

I know it's a tedious process ;)

If you do happen to have a really good pc, just go ahead and record video as always.

No.... what I;m saying is that I can't even playback the recordings because they aren't there and when I click on "Record" the message ""recording.\records\4AFCF4EC_SuperSmashBrosU.k rec failed error=13" so there is no recording in the p2p client

when you p2p you check the "Record game" box down in the middle, then when you are done you change to "playback" in the list where you select p2p or client

I think you're trying to check the "Record Game" box in the middle of the emulation. You have to check it BEFORE you begin emulation, otherwise it won't work.
