For those who record often any advice on what works for you? The program you use to record games? Or ones you've liked? I'm just trying to find a good program, and I really can't figure out the kaillera recording feature. Any help is appreciated :D.

There are free programs for download online to record, but it may lag your game a bit depending on your computer's specs. After recording, WMM (Windows Movie Maker) works perfectly fine for putting the video together and editing it. Pinnacle Studios is another good choice but it will cost you a pretty penny.

Record keystrokes with the p2p client, replay later while recording screen with FRAPS, produce with VirtualDub.

Takes forever and it's a pain in the ***, but I'm a quality snob.

That's why you should record keystrokes online, then replay offline with FRAPS.

NixxxoN: Koyote doesn't seem to have all the features that Virtualdub does, like combining files. Combining files is necessary because FRAPS splits up videos in 4GB chunks, which is only a minute long when recording in 1080p. An average match is like 4 minutes, so that's 4 files and 16GB total.

VirtualDub isn't that hard to learn, its GUI is fairly intuitive.

Well, I dont have this problem because you probably record in a very high resolution and the file is too big. I think 5 minutes matches are like 600 or 700 MB for me, and i convert them easily with the koyote program to 100 MB or so

A$ uploads in a much better quality and the video sizes are large and i upload in a quite decent quality (enough Imo) and the video file is small, for fast upload and storage saving. Up to your choice

I don't think 1080p is quite necessary for smash 64...

Not to mention using EXACTLY 1080p or any 16:9 ratio stretches your smash. You gotta use a 16:12 ratio

A$ do you have a 20TB hard drive or something? 4 gigs per minute takes up crazy space.
I have 1.5TB total (1TB + 300GB + 200GB). I just delete the FRAPS files after I've produced them. Once they're re-encoded and ready for upload, they end up being something like 50MB/min.

This is the best way to record hands down.

Fraps 3.0.3 full version
Total Screen Recorder
Hypercam

Fast Computers
Okay, get any p2p client with record, i recommend ownZ client sense it ftw. Then play your game with it being recorded. Go to playback tab. Now open fraps and go to movies then make it 60fps. and go in task manager and make pj64k high period. then click play and record.

Medium Computers
Get p2p client, record game, go to play back. Now open total screen recorder gold. Make your codec Xvid or Divx which you can find on google if needed. Now just record the screen and make sure the screen on pj64k is 320x.

Slow Computers
Get p2p client blah blah go to playback. Open hypercam make it full frames uncompressed codec. make pj64k screen as low as can be. Then record.

lol it shouldn't take like a SUPER computer to record with fraps, my computer is a 1.6 GHz single core processor overclocked to 2.0, 894 mb ram and Windows XP Pro and I can record my SSB matches at 640x480 resolution with a slight 1-2 frame slowdown which is 100% playable for me.

you gotta record game "script" with p2p client and capture it into a video file afterwards. Or it will lag and the file will be huge depending on your settings
