Aquaman and Lola Bunny have been confirmed.

Here are the stats for Aquaman and Lola Bunny from their days:

Aquaman
Chance: 94%
Want: 85.8%

Lola Bunny
Chance: 40%
Want: 40.56%

It was announced Season 5 will be the final season with no more content planned. As a result, we can no longer rate chances since anyone but those that got in are now a flat 0%.

That said, I want to do one final topic that will be a series of 5 questions:

1. What got you into Multiversus?
2. Of the characters we did get, who was your favorite and least favorite?
3. Who was your most wanted? If it was a character that got in, how satisfied were you with their inclusion?
4. Apart from the monetization, what aspects of the game did you like/dislike?
5. If Multiversus were to ever be revived in the concept of “Massive WB crossover”, how would you handle things differently? Only rule here is that Reindog must stay.

This thread will remain open to allow everyone to pour their thoughts.

Hope everyone enjoyed playing the Multiversus Rate Their Chances!

1. It's a crossover platform fighter featuring WB characters, so when that concept leaked to outlets prior to the official confirmation, I was immediately intrigued. There are a lot of WB-owned characters who I really like, so I was on board.

2. The Iron Giant is very special to me, and he's my main. I play him very sub-optimally because I actively avoid using Rage mode, but he's still a lot of fun. I like that while not optimal, Rage mode is technically optional. My least favorite is either Reindog or Banana Guard. One was an unnecessary OC who didn't even speak, so he added basically nothing to the actual crossover aspect. The other was one of FOUR Adventure Time characters on the final roster and a joke character at a time where the game needed to prove to the public that the game itself wasn't a joke. Everything Banana Guard can do, Nubia can just do better.

3. Out of the characters that were datamined, my most wanted character was the Wicked Witch, who sadly (somehow) didn't end up getting in the game. Scooby-Doo was close behind. Out of characters who weren't even datamined at all, my big four were Wilt, Tracy Turnblad, T.O.M., and Audrey II. Out of the ones who got in, I mentioned Iron Giant above, but I was also really hoping for Marvin and Betelgeuse, and I really liked how both of them played.

4. I really enjoyed how creative some of the moveset ideas were. I disliked the hitbox issues, the monotony of the grind, and how certain characters were written (especially in Rifts).

5. This doesn't have Reindog since it was drafted up before this question was asked, but I made a hypothetical reboot roster a couple of days ago wherein the game is a retail release that I had control over instead of a free to play game, and this was how the roster looked.

1: I got into MultiVersus ever since it was first rumored on the Internet. While I did doubt its legitness, I never opposed to the concept of "Super Smash Warner Bros.", especially if they're planning to cover ALL of WB's subsidiaries.

2: My favorite had to be Tom and Jerry. Their moveset in MultiVersus has got to be a crowning achievement in the "duo fighter" gimmick. I dare even say it puts Duck Hunt Dog to shame in Smash.

My least favorite, though? It pains me that I have more than one answer, but I have to go with either Lebron James or Banana Guard. There were just better characters they could've gotten first. And if Lola turns out to be a Lebron clone in her moveset, that confirms how replaceable he turned out to be.

3: My most wanted characters were Scooby-Doo, Daffy Duck, any one of the Eds, and Wile E. Coyote. It's downright criminal we'll never see them in this game.

4: Besides the monetization, I actually grew to dislike the "side characters over protagonists" motif they tried out. Sure, we already had Finn and Jake from Adventure Time, but why tease Scooby multiple times if you're going to sidestep him for Shaggy and Velma? It makes no sense.

5: To revive the concept of MultiVersus, including Reindog in the roster, I'd make it a physical retail release with multiple DLC packs. As for how my base roster would go, I'd have 5 Looney Tunes reps, 5 DC Comics reps, 2 Hanna-Barbera reps, 3 Cartoon Network reps, and 9 Miscellaneous WB reps. Future DLC would expand on these categories until each base roster section has 5 or 10 characters in them.

But if I had my way, I'd rent a Delorean first before bringing back MultiVersus in the modern day.

1. I was intrigued by MultiVersus ever since the initial leak got spread around. That first photo leak (the one with Gandalf) was so amusing at the time and when the game was officially announced I got super stoked. The idea that any character from any Warner Bros property could conceivably get in was super exciting and it made for a very fun speculation cycle.

2. Jason was one of my most wanted characters and the day that he got announced (alongside Agent Smith who was very unexpected) was a glorious day. I love big tanky characters and I love what they did with his kit. It's genuinely one of the best examples of implementing concepts and references from the source material into a moveset that the devs managed to pull off. As for least favorite? Well putting aside Reindog for obvious reasons it's kind of hard to choose because I found everyone to at least be partially fun, but I probably have to go with Agent Smith (which is ironic considering what I said earlier). He does have a few neat moves, but there is a lot more that could have been done with his kit which makes him probably the most disappointing character in my book.

3. Aside from Jason, my other most wanteds were Ruby Rose, Godzilla, and Kong. It's a shame that MultiVersus didn't thrive long enough to obtain any real third party characters outside of maybe LeBron James. And it pains my soul knowing that we were this close to getting Ruby but the circumstances just weren't in her favor enough.

4. Positives:
  • MultiVersus did have a level of heart to it when it comes to the movesets, the voice acting and interactions, the way the trailers were crafted (especially with the Powerpuff Girls trailer), and the care put into the customization, especially with the alternate costumes.
  • The different forms of the stages that cater to both the casual and competitive players is very much appreciated.
  • The Rifts were a neat idea that brought some much needed single player content for people like me that would get frustrated with the online component.
Negatives:
  • The online was janky a lot of the time which certainly didn't help make the online experience less frustrating.
  • The gameplay had its moments, but the movement just felt off to me and I never got fully used to it.
  • The decision to lock the majority of the characters behind a grindfest was a terrible decision. It did help that the full roster was available offline so you could at least try the characters before purchasing them, but as someone who likes to play a wide range of characters, this just killed the flow of the game for me.
5. I will argue that, as a foundation, what MultiVersus has right now is decent enough. But if a theoretical revival were to happen, the following things need to be addressed:
  • Make every single playable character available off the bat and keep the monetization strictly to the cosmetics only.
  • I think what the gameplay needs is some more weight to it and in general it needed more polish with better balancing and less jank in the animation.
  • In general, the game just needed to be managed better. It didn't need an entire engine overhaul and the devs had a consistent problem with releasing characters too fast without having the next characters in line be done. And in some cases they did have completed characters and...just didn't release then for some reason. Case in point: The Wicked Witch is supposedly done according to leaks and what people have discovered in the files. But for some reason she was never announced during the height of Wicked's popularity which is a massive blunder. It felt like the devs were making bad decision after bad decision, resulting in an unpolished product that was alienating players every step of the way.

Overall, MultiVersus had its moments, and I appreciate the memories and opportunities it provided to me. I got to run a fun thread, I made new friends, and if it wasn't for MultiVersus RTC, there is a chance I wouldn't have ever gotten into RWBY, and that's something I will always cherish. At the same time though, I can't help but think of all the potential that this game squandered. It had the ability to rival Smash in terms of hype character choices, and while we did get some great characters, the game didn't last long enough to reach even a quarter of its maximum awesomeness.

I'm not sure how much I would hold my breath for a theoretical revival of some kind. But if it does happen someday, I hope that the new team looks at everything that went wrong and brings the project in a new direction. I do hope it happens, and I hope that it will smash expectations.
