Hey guys, I have some information that I thought I might share with you. I live in Japan, my job is localizing games for our english-speaking audience. I've been working for some time now on a Namco Bandai game. Sadly, the game is not Smash Bros., but I've heard from some of my dev friends things about the game that you might find interesting. I'll be quick, there won't be a lot of cuts, Adventure Mode will be more complex than you expect, Lucario and Mewtwo will both appear as playable characters. People will be disappointed with the roster, K. Rool won't make it to the game, Ridley is still a boss, among other things. I've also heard that there are many characters that are being improved from their previous incarnations much like Bowser, these characters are Zelda, Ness, Yoshi, Falco, Ganondorf (he won't use a sword though), Mewtwo and Sonic. I have a pal who's working on Smash Bros. He's not very high up the ladder, so he's not as well informed as he could be, but he's given me some interesting news.

The first thing he told me is that Sakurai is very interested in the new "Fairy" type of Pokémon and is looking into giving Jigglypuff a complete overhaul

Second of all, there's a lot of debate over whether Ridley should be in the game. Some feel he should be included due to his massive popularity, while others think he just wouldn't work. It's unknown what Sakurai thinks of this.

He's going to be completely revamping Ganondorf, and he'll use a mixture of magic and sword attacks to represent both his Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess incarnations.

Sakurai isn't looking to cut Lucario, but feels it may be necessary, as the Pokémon series has enough representatives and Mewtwo is more relevant now.

There's some division as to who the new Mario newcomer should be - Waluigi and Bowser Junior seem to be the most likely, but there's mention of other characters like Toad

Toon Link will be replaced by Classic Link from A Link Between Worlds

There's talk of the Baby Mario Bros. to represent the Yoshi series, due to the new 3DS game. there will also be a Yarn Yoshi stage

Diddy and Dixie are being made into a team as they were intended, and K. Rool is being added to the game

Little Mac will be in the game to please Western fans

Finally, and probably most important - the Smash Team has pondered this for ages, and have finally come to the conclusion - Reggie Fils Aimes will not be in the game - instead, they're working on a new character called "Nintendo Devs." They'll be taking notable names from Nintendo and mashing them all into one big tag team. So far, the only guys that have been confirmed are Reggie, Sakurai and Miyamoto, but you can expect a lot more than that. This is a massive step in representing Nintendo as a whole - after all, how can you celebrate Nintendo's history without representing the guys who made it what it is? I'm looking forward to this new character, ti sounds like a blast.

"I'm, you know, a hipster from Redmond, Washington. I'm totally into Smash Bros, even though it's kinda mainstream by now, so I'm always sneaking by the Nintendo of America building whenever my local coffee shop closes. It's called Good Sips; you've probably never heard of it. Of course, it's open now, which is why I'm on the Internet in the first place, but the point is this: the other day I was walking by a dumpster when I saw a tangle of dirty paper shreds stuck to some rat poop nearby. Since hygiene is so mainstream, I obviously went to pick it up. I was starting to regret this decision -there was rat poop all over my manicures- but I recognized a remarkably undamaged string of words on one of the shreds, which said "Super Smash Brothers Kerfuffle" Not believing my luck, I grabbed all the shredS and went home to my flat (Calling it an apartment is soooo 2012) where I spent fifteen hours or so (Not that I can be bothered to keep track of time) piecing it together and cleaning it off. Just, you know, for readability's sake; it's not like I enjoy cleanliness or anything. But the end result is this: the paper proved to be a memo from Sakurai to Reggie Filsame, discussing first and foremost the possibility of him being a playable character, though that was thoroughly agreed as impossible. Some other general discussion was there, and here's the gist of it: In the coming few months the games will be retitled Kerfuffle for the Wii U version and Rumble for the 3DS version, Goku will be playable because of all the really genuine posts on Miiverse, and Captain Falcon will be cut since he's no longer relevant. Anyone who thinks this isn't true is just a Nintendo hater and can't deal with the facts. Peace out."

Hey guys, I have a good friend who works for Namco-Bandai, and is working on Smash 4. He's not that well-informed, but he did tell me a few things. First off, Mewtwo is in the game as a playable character. Apparently, Sakurai is working on making a moveset for Ridley right now. He also told me that Mewtwo will be revealed next, and that it looks like Snake will be cut. I don't have anything else right now, but I'll try to talk to my friend again.

Hello guys, I created this account to only make this post, hopefully this will keep me safe.

I work for the legal team at Nintendo. I will not state which branch or office I am in as it might make me lose my job. However, we were recently handed an assignment to write up documents to be signed to include two third party reps. We had to do this for Mega Man so this wasn't surprising. This time we had to have specifics because we are getting Sonic to return due to the recent friendship Sega and Nintendo have. A document for a returning rep has some small differences from the new rep sheet we make. It seems the other rep we are writing up new documents for will be for Pac Man. I know that won't make all of you happy, but I'm just trying to report what I know.

They also told us to be prepared for one more document. I'm going to speculate we'll be asking for Snake back again so we can have a round number for third party reps, but I wont know until I receive my next assignment. I'll try to post here then.

-No new Star Fox or Kirby reps, Wolf is cut

-Sonic's back, with moves from Lost World

The roster will be over 40 characters. Adventure mode will be like Melee's but with bosses. All Star and Classic mode return.

He seem pretty legit, so his post said Nintendo would be making a contract with Snoop Dogg to get him included in Smash 4. He also said they were getting Snoop Dogg because he was a positive role model that would clearly give kids positive ideas. Sakurai is my grandfather. The other day I paid him a visit. We drank tea and talked about a lot of casual stuff.
Suddenly I saw blueprints on his desk, and I asked "what's that?"
Gramps quickly SHFF'd over to the desk and grabbed all the blueprints under his arms and said "Nothing! It's nothing at all!"
Then he disappeared with them to another room.

I was able to catch a glimpse of the blueprints while he was moving them, though.
I'm pretty sure I saw the word "confirmed", as well as images of Ridley, King K Rool, Waluigi, Endou Mamoru from Inazuma 11, Little Mac, and Sami from Advance Wars.

There might have been more characters, but I didn't see them all.

Hello everyone, I have some information to share. I got this info from a leaked message and image that I found on reddit from a former nintendo employee, who broke into the building, a mere two minutes after it was posted (NOTE: I GOT THE INFO TWO MINTUES AFTER IT WAS POSTED. HE DIDN'T BREAK IN TWO MINUTES AFTER IT WAS POSTED). I got a screencap of it, fortunately, since it was removed four minutes later. I can't share the screencap, due to some personal information in the background. Sorry. I CAN, however, share some info.
First up, the cuts. Sonic, Wolf, Toon Link, Pokemon Trainer, Lucario, Meta Knight, ZSS, and ROB have been cut. They decided that they wanted to get rid of some of the unnecessary characters, in favor of more interesting ones due to time issues. Sonic got cut because they had a private dispute recently with Sega, that ended in them not being allowed to keep him in.
Next, the adds. Megaman, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, King K. Rool, Ridley, Mewtwo, Pokemon Trainer Red (three pokemon not clearly displayed,) Wonder Red from Wonderful 101, Bowser Jr., Professor Layton, Midna, Little Mac, and Toon Zelda/Tetra.
Next, They will have many neutral stages. Like, MANY. As in, the majority will be tournament legal. There will be fifteen past stages, and forty new stages, for the Wii U. There will be ten past stages, and thirty new stages, for the 3DS. The Wii U and DS only share five past stages and ten new stages.
Lastly, I can confirm that while Reggie Fils-Aime isn't a playable character, he is an assist trophy. Rosalina, Mii, Paper Mario, and all cut characters are now also assist trophies (with the exception of Sonic.)
More info may be leaked, as I have the name of the fired employee. I will try to contact him for more information. Will keep you updated.

Sakurai and I have been lovers for quite some time now. We bring out the best in each other and inspire confidence and hope. He is a tender lover. During the harsh cold winters we curl up together in front of his fire place. He always says "PK Fire" when he uses the lighter. It's kind of cute. The other day Sakurai fell deeply ill. It was tragic. He couldn't eat, couldn't sleep and couldn't even pet his beloved cat. Many months went by while Sakurai became more and more ill. It got to the point where he needed to be hospitalized. I was worries sick for him. I was restless for months. I visited him daily in the hospital, brought him silly puddy to keep him busy and gram crackers to eat. A few weeks went by when I got a terrible phone call. I rushed to the emergency room to find him as pale as a ghost. He made a crack about not letting Luigi suck him up. Amazing how even during so much pain he can find the humour in things. Things took a turn for the worse when he started drifting out. The doctor arrived shortly. He was dressed in white scrubs over top of overalls. He had a warm smile and a familiar mustache. Sakurai then turned to me and said quietly "Dr. Mario confirmed for Smash 4" He died instantly.

Hey Guys, I Just Recently got fired from Nintendo. They Might see this and Change things so Don't take My Word for it, but All of the Forbidden 7 were Returning from Melee and Lucario is NOT Being Replaced by Mewtwo. To keep the Trend, Ike has been cut for Chrom and Toon Link has Been cut. with Young Link Returning. Also Ridley Will be a Unlockable BOSS. That appears by Beating 20 People in Cruel Brawl, Master Hand 50, Crazy Hand 100. They Obusisly are the Most Powerful Character in the Game and WILL NOT be able to be used in The Multi-Men Brawl, Home Run Contest, and Target Smash. Tom Nook will NOT Be in the game. but will be an assist Trophy. Sonic and Snake are returning. and Pacman AND Lloyd will be in game. Or At least thats what they were thinking. But Sakurai has been touchy about Lloyd. Also the Game is Planed to Release on May 5 2014. But Will Probably be delayed as the game still HAS A lot of work to do. Everything I have said has NOT been implemented yet and is subject to change.

Hello, I'm here to tell you something I have been worrying about.
I have gotten some information from one of my best mates. He works for Namco, and is helping the devolopment for the upcoming Super Smash Bros game, and he told me something. The reason I'm worried is because, I'm one of the few in the world knowing this information. And I'd love to share it ofcourse, but I have to be careful, thinkin of my mate and the concequences he could get if they know who he was.

But anyways, I don't wont to spoil all the fun, but as a member of SmashBoards, I feel it's my duty to call of what I know. So here goes;

Mewtwo is returning indeed, and he is capeable to transform into his awakened form like Zelda could in the previous versions. The only difference in each form is the Speed, and attack damage. He told me that Original Mewtwo is more based to be strong, while Awakened is more quicker...

He also told me that there was some discussions regarding the newest "Super Mario Rep" he told me that they would either go with Waluigi or Paper Mario. The reason my mate said was that Sakurai wanted to create the "Plumber Match" where we get Mario, Luigi, Wario and Waluigi... While on the other hand, he also has taken notice of the fanbase Paper Mario has, and thinkin of possibilities surrounding this...

This was all my mate could tell me regarding characters, but he told me one more thing, I find very interessting. I myself reacted gladly to this.
He told me that "Assisst Trophies" are canceled, instead each character will have their own Partner, which can be called for whenever you get the new item, they didn't have an offichial name for the item as of now, but he would get back to me about it when he knew it, he also said that Sakurai scrapped the idea of Dixie Kong and Bowser Jr in the favor of adding them to this new Item mechanism..

He found out that when they said they were going to overhaul Ganondorf, they actually meant replace him. Ganondorf has been replaced by Pig Ganon to represent A Link Between Worlds. However, Ganondorf is still in the game as an assist trophy, in which he fires energy balls at you

Luigi has been completely overhauled to celebrate the Year of Luig. Not only is his down-B the Poltergust, but he has an entire moveset centered around the Luigi's Mansion and Mario & Luigi games. He's essentially a completely new character.

Mario's Final Smash is now the Kuribo's Shoe, because the devs couldn't think of anything else apparently.

There's an unknown third MOTHER Rep, who my friend doesn't want to reveal but has said they're getting "the Starfox treatment." I'm unsure if he means they're all based off of each other, or if they all have Landmasters.

So I've got a pretty reliable source who I can't really reveal or else, obviously, they'd get fired. I can't even tell you what industry they're working for or else there'd be a pretty thorough investigation--my source isn't directly working on the game though. This is all info that's going to surface pretty soon, which is why my source is aware of it. Consider it an early Christmas present assuming that it all comes true. I'd say my source is very reliable though; he correctly foretold the advent of Mega Man as well as knew quite a bit about Pokemon X & Y prior to announcements (Fairy-type, new Pokemon, etc.)

-Unfortunately, both Snake AND Sonic are not returning, the decision being solely of Sakurai. I'm paraphrasing, but supposedly he felt that 3rd parties function more like 'special guests' and wear out their welcome if they stay for more than one installment. There's also complications involving royalties if there are more than two companies at stake that AREN'T owned by Nintendo, but that's a bit less substantial an issue than the first reason. However, there WILL be another 3rd Party Character, one that 'isn't necessarily the obvious choice, but one that many Nintendo fans will be pleased with.'

-Lucas is not returning due to some fundamental changes in game mechanics that will allow Ness' move set to be virtually identical to Lucas', in other words, customization. He is the only cut first-party Brawl veteran.

-There are a total of ten newcomers counting the ones that have already been revealed. The only ones that have been disclosed to me that haven't been announced yet are Little Mac, Diddy + Dixie (tag team,) and Ganon (separate from Ganondorf. No word on Ganondorf's return.)

-There is a new stage based on Wuhu Island of the Mii series, but Mii is not set to appear in the game.

-The game includes a Mario Party stage, a Brain Age stage, and a stage based on past Nintendo franchises.

-Ridley and K. Rool are both bosses.

-Similar to Melee, the adventure mode is more heavily based on Nintendo franchises as stages than Subspace Emissary. The Adventure Mode is largely like Melee's but with opportunities to boost your character's stats. You only play as one character in the Adventure Mode that you pick in the beginning and there are slight variations to the experience depending on who you pick.
-Stage Builder is back with side and vertical scrolling options.

Apparently, the Mii models will not be part of normal Smash Bros. gameplay and instead will be used as part of being able to make your own trophies (the game will also allow you to use all the different models in the game) which will mainly serve as your online avatar and includes a description of yourself. The source doesn't seem to know if there will be a contest for making trophies.

I have learned that Smash 4 will be released on April 4, 2014 and there will be new playable characters such as Red Ranger, Travis from No More Heroes, Samurai Jack (DLC), Riley Freeman, Stryder, Sanfisher, Saber, Miko, Tifa, Chrono, Grey Fox, Vehicle Joe, Leon Scott Kennedy, Bayonetta, Spyro, Knuckles, Wander (Shadow of the Colussus), Commander Sheperd, Iron Man, Ryden, Goku, Aang (DLC), KK Slider, and Tom (from Toonami also DLC)
I wasn't able to access all the data for Smash 4 but this is what I have. I will have to unravel more heavily encrypted data and crack a few more firewalls.

EDIT and UPDATE: 5 minutes ago FBI agents showed up at my front door. ****! So I am in the process of manually changing my identity and gender to Hugh Jackman's daughter.

If Riley Freeman, Wander, and Spyro (Legend of Spyro version) were in, I'd probably need new pants. ^o^

Alright guys, I know this isn't the most surprising thing, but I figured I would tell you guys anyways.

I worked with Sakurai on behalf of Game Freak a bit on what Pokemon content will be in the game. Sadly I got the boring end of the stick and had to discuss what Pokemon stage may be in.

Unsurprisingly, it's Pokemon Stadium 3. Yes, kinda lame but I can tell you guys what types get represented at least!

The four transformations this time are Bug, Ghost, Steel, and Dragon. These types are strange I know, but Sakurai wanted to try and bring something new to the old formula of PS stages by addding in unique types to work with.

Bug is rather simple is being a bunch of trees made to look like a forest, I'm guessing the trees will act like platforms.

Ghost will have creepy purple fog floating in the background. Occasionally invisible balls will pop up and shimmer, hitting them will cause knockback and damage.

Steel is very straight forward and looks kinda industrial with a few platforms.A crane will hold one platform that will tip depending on where characters are standing.

Dragon was really the oddball, but with the addition to the type in the Pokemon TCG they wanted to find a way to have some recognition in Smash for the popular type. We're still working on how we can make this work. Currently Sakurai wants some sort of water/air stage hybrid for them.

That's all I can say guys, hopefully you can get a glimpse of the normal flat part of the stage when Pokemon comes out!

"I'm, you know, a hipster from Redmond, Washington. I'm totally into Smash Bros, even though it's kinda mainstream by now, so I'm always sneaking by the Nintendo of America building whenever my local coffee shop closes. It's called Good Sips; you've probably never heard of it. Of course, it's open now, which is why I'm on the Internet in the first place, but the point is this: the other day I was walking by a dumpster when I saw a tangle of dirty paper shreds stuck to some rat poop nearby. Since hygiene is so mainstream, I obviously went to pick it up. I was starting to regret this decision -there was rat poop all over my manicures- but I recognized a remarkably undamaged string of words on one of the shreds, which said "Super Smash Brothers Kerfuffle" Not believing my luck, I grabbed all the shredS and went home to my flat (Calling it an apartment is soooo 2012) where I spent fifteen hours or so (Not that I can be bothered to keep track of time) piecing it together and cleaning it off. Just, you know, for readability's sake; it's not like I enjoy cleanliness or anything. But the end result is this: the paper proved to be a memo from Sakurai to Reggie Filsame, discussing first and foremost the possibility of him being a playable character, though that was thoroughly agreed as impossible. Some other general discussion was there, and here's the gist of it: In the coming few months the games will be retitled Kerfuffle for the Wii U version and Rumble for the 3DS version, Goku will be playable because of all the really genuine posts on Miiverse, and Captain Falcon will be cut since he's no longer relevant. Anyone who thinks this isn't true is just a Nintendo hater and can't deal with the facts. Peace out."

9/10, pretty believable...

So, I just started a new job at Nintendo today! It's just a desk job, has nothing to do with game development at all. However, the computer they've assigned me used to belong to a higher up at the company. While they did wipe the hard drive, they forgot to turn off the administrative privileges on the network! I did inform my supervisor of this oversight and he passed it on to the IT department, though he assured me that there's nothing "top secret" on the network drive that I could access. Later on my break, I decided to browse the documents stored on there and inadvertently found a mislabeled file which was a design document for the new Smash Bros. game! I took a quick glance at it and quickly closed the document, as my break was over. Here's what stuck out at me, though...

- The "Forbidden Seven" were indeed planned to be playable in Brawl during development, but had to be cut due to time constraints. Mewtwo and Roy, in particular, were distressing cuts for Sakurai. As such, he has made sure that they both return for Smash 4.

- Young Link was dropped early during the planning stages in order to include Toon Link due to his unique art style in contrast to Link's look in Brawl. This time around, Sakurai wants three Links in the game to better represent the franchise (as there are three different timelines in the Zelda universe). This is why Smash 4's Link is a blend of Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess. Young Link will be reworked into a representative of the "classic era", particularly borrowing from Link Between World's design of the character.

- According to the file, ALL characters that were in Brawl are planned for Smash 4. However, the team wants to make sure there is a decent amount of newcomers for the roster, so there's a small chance of veteran cuts if they run out of time.

I'll try to take a look at the document again tomorrow, to see if I missed anything. So long for now.

7/10. Nothing too shocking. Not so sure on the three Links idea though. Here's mine:

I work for the website vgleaks.com, and as such, I have managed to acquire a large amount of what I consider to be reliable information regarding Super Smash Bros. 4. I'll be waiting to post most of this after the release of Pokemon X & Y (you'll see why in my post), but I'd say it's 75% certain. Here we go:

+ Yes, character reveals are tied to game releases. For the release of Pokemon X & Y, Mewtwo is going to be revealed in a trailer showcasing his new abilities, which includes him being able to access his Mega-Evolutions. Dan Green will be reprising the role of Mewtwo from the movie Mewtwo Returns, since the original Mewtwo VA (Phillip Bartlett) passed away in 2001.

+ The roster is going to be a lot bigger than people imagine. Somewhere between 55-58 characters.

+ Every veteran franchise will have at least two playable characters.

+ In conjunction with the above, Black Shadow will be the second F-Zero character, and he will be inheriting some (but not all) of Ganondorf's moves, as Ganondorf is going to be getting the Bowser treatment this time around.

+ The stage that Kirby was on in that one screenshot is indeed a Mario Galaxy stage. It is going to be based on the Comet Observatory and will feature reduced gravity. It will also have the various galaxies pass by in the background of the stage.

+ This hole that everyone keeps talking about on the Pyrosphere stage is actually a dynamic change and represents something that is unique to this game. Ridley is planned to be an unlockable character, and when you meet the conditions to unlock him, you'll fight him on the Pyrosphere. When you defeat him, a cutscene will play showing him break out of the Pyrosphere and creating the hole, similar to what happened in Other M. Following this, you'll have him as a playable character and the hole will permanently be a part of the Pyrosphere.

+ The boxing ring stage is a Punch-Out stage, and Little Mac is planned to be playable. He's going to be the first newcomer revealed since E3. (Mewtwo is seen as a veteran.)

+ To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Famicom and NES, a special stage unique to the Wii U version will be implemented which cycles through some of the bigger titles on the platform. The main track for this stage cycles through an orchestrated medley of the games present in the stage. Some of the games will be Super Mario Bros., Balloon Fighter, The Mysterious Murasame Castle, and StarTropics.

+ Games that have had official anime series will feature songs from those series, such as The Meaning of Truth from F-Zero GP Legend and Pokemon! Gotta Catch Em All from Pokemon.

Keep in mind that most of this hinges on the revelation of Mewtwo during the Pokemon X & Y release. If he isn't shown, then I'll know this is a bunch of junk. But if he is shown, then I'll be able to post more.

Here is mine..

A friend of mine from college works at a Japanese store called Sofmap. He informed me that there has been a posted list of new Nintendo miniature toys to purchase in April 2014. They are labeled as 'Trophy NFS'. His boss said they were used with SSB Wii U. It was a form of DLC? Or unlockable in game trophies. But it is smash related. Sofmap supposedly is releasing these toys or figures only. If I find out more I'll let you know.
