For one u both need to learn not to roll. Two ur friend needs to learn how to DI and momentum cancel when he gets hit. For example u Upthrow him in the first stock of the first match. He doesn't die but if he had anymore damage he def wound of.

Di'ing is pretty easy if u get up u DI Left or Right and Dair to cancel the momentum
If u get hit to the left or right aim for the top corner and Dair

you played good as MK. The Kirby was nice too. All i can really say is pummel more before executing a grab. But thats kinda just whatever. And "you both need to learn to not roll"?
wat.

Rolling a lot becomes predictable. Just observe the characters roll and memorize its range. When you see the opponent starting a roll, you can predict where they will be with a charged smash or something. I am too tired to come up with my own advice right now sorry lol. I have to do well at axis =s

btw last weekend 4th place with double kirby team lol. Never even played with my partner before that day lols
just proves that kirby is **** =D

...i cant lie... to me it KIIINDA looked like you guys watched a few combo vids... copy catted a few combos... but know very little about the game itself. ... not trying to be rude or anything but when i see a character fly straight up... or i see someone get hit with an F smash and not deviate from the 'standard path' of knockback... i have to conclude that you've never heard of Directional Influence before.

Aside from that. your friend learned the D throw U tilt combo... but he never learned that its got a % cap?... i saw him wiff a u tilt when you were a good 3 character lengths above him...

... i do have good things to say... but one last bad thing. tell your friend to learn how to re set as it were... like... everytime he's hit he falls right back on top of you trying to counter attack... you can rarely do this against any character especially MK. find a safe way to the ground and start from square one. there's agressive, over aggressive, and stupid... falling on your opponents sword trying to kick him is the latter.

but i must say he had some ok spots. some good spacing in there in parts. some interesting tactics. all in all i'd say do some DI research and get back at it... and don't get too into the heat of the moment tryna be a hero D airing into U airs. U air always wins.

I notice how he dair a lot for kirby, dair can be hard to handle and it hard to position to spike it down, use other move to edge guard, mind games =] . you used down B a few times, the start up is noticeable so it not really a move you should use, if you know your opponent is open then go ahead XD.

DI !!!!!!!!!!. Um check out kirby combo, crouch list, and other stuff you may find useful =P

Sorry that my critique is coming REALLY late...I got tied down with a week-end project.

So...anyways...

I am not going to bother with the second match, since I am commenting on Kirby (chaos_). Quick notes for Marth (yellowroy): Please use u-tilt, f-tilt, and retreating f-air (jump away + C-stick towards direction Marth is facing) more…thanks. Maybe a few grab releases would be nice, too, since Marth has worse throws in this game.

I notice that you fail to look at your opponent. At about 1:14 for the first match, you damaged Meta-Knight and gave him the Shuttle Loop he needed (Meta-Knight was in fallspecial off-stage) to get back on the stage.

Your main flaws seem to be these:
1. (Standing) Inhale on the stage – try a dash to short to Inhale, or a ledge-hopped Inhale. Those are better set-ups for a successful attack.
2. Stop using Stone in range of a Shuttle loop.
3. Your technical skill is inconsistent; it needs more perfecting (especially SHFFing).
4. Know the Marth match-up, since this is one of Kirby’s worse odds…although I will not go into detail here, I say to not use d-throw, let Marth approach (since camping wins), and counter-pick Rainbow Cruise (Final Destination against Marth’s stage-ban).
5. Your aerial spacing is ineffective.
6. Trying to edge-guard Meta-Knight...>_<...is a good way to lose.

Your minor flaws:
1. Drop the d-air spam…
2. Less pummel after grabbing at low percentages…
3. End Mach Tornado closer to the ground.

What can you do to improve?
1. Learn the proper times for your specials:
i. Inhale – perfect the set-ups.
ii. Stone – high, off stage recovery or punishing lag/predictability. Stop using it close to the stage…
2. Less d-air…
3. Get your tech skill more consistent – Short-hopping and fast-falling.
4. If you fight a Meta-Knight Mach Tornado spammer, try f-smash rather than Inhale.
5. Use smash-DI when hit and immediately use b-air. This needs to happen in the first several frames. This helps your recovery and lets you livelonger (sic…spell checker sees this as a compound word).
6. Use C-stick to help with your aerial spacing.
7. Never approach if you can help it.

Epic moment:
4xu-tilt at 49-51 seconds first match.

Practice makes perfect! You are a decent Kirby player and can follow up your attacks well (such as d-air to b-air), so you definitely have potential.
