Rate my Fox (Any comments appreciated :D)

Hey, I just switched from a Falco main to a Fox. Here are two vids of me against my friend-

I just saw the first 30 seconds of the 1st ..

you should spam more SHFFL and get more speed into your game.
Dash, WD back, dash / Dashdancing could help you, too.

For new fox players SHDL shouldn't be so important...

Yeah, I can't do short hops 100% of the time >< But yeah, I need to do some Dash dancing and better WD--

Yeah, I know about the SHDL...but I can only get it like 20% of the time, so I was also practicing it :D But I think you should check out the whole vid before commenting though lol--

I thought for being a new fox player like myself you were very good. I just started playing this game using advanced techniques for the first time about a month ago and I am still not able to WD or SH 100% of the time (more like 40%). Thats really all I can say since I'm not the one to answer on how to improve, just giving my opinion.

at times it seemed like you thought you were using falco. take advantage of fox's speed. do some jc grabs/smashes.

yeah i can tell ya used to play with falco cause u favor the short hop laser thing that falco people use....but usually use the laser with fox after they get sent off the edge and there some what above the arena...then go in for a shine spike

Yeah, your fox does look like there are still a lot of falco-isms left in it. The f-smash w/ fox shouldn't be used as much, down throw combos = not cool (easy to escape), Waveshines are important to speed up your game, and aerials should frequently be l-canceled into waveshines (even against luigi b/c it keeps you moving quickly). Against luigi's priority, try shffl'd bairs.

lol i enjoyed the falco timed wavedashes. Thats pretty hard to get used to. I do it too since I use both fox and falco.

Yeah, I've been training with Fox and I think that SH single lasers are a lot more versatile in combat and also cause I can't do SHDL consistently ><

missing shdl isn't that big of a deal, it just comes out as a shl anyway (unless you are full jumping when you miss)

you need to improve your nairs, aeirals in general and learn how to shine better
Mostly learn how to fastfall when doing short hop laser cause i saw that it went over the opp's heaad

Its really hard to say...that luigi isnt very good anyways...fight someone harder and it would be easier to determine ur status :D

Dsmash sends Luigi at a gayer angle than fsmash does, so use it. Otherwise, use usmash whenever he's over 80% or so.

Work on your shine game or so, since you can get very easy kills off of Luigi due to shinespikes. Uthrow -> uair doesn't work on Luigi. Experiment with bthrow/fthrow, and see what you like. If teched, dthrow usually leaves Luigi too far away for you to do anything useful. Luigi's aerials pretty much outprioritize yours, so keep that in mind when going for uairs/bairs. Also, follow almost every aerial with a shine, and if not that, a grab/smash, since doing so will most likely result in a favorable edgeguarding situation. Learn usmash out of shield as well, since that will come very much in handy when playing against floaties in general.
