i'm sorry dude, i respect that you're only 13, but don't even bother playing cpus at all (except maybe lvl 1s for tech skill practice) find some friends on your skill level and play a bunch so you all get better. and don't bother wasting video capture resources / webspace & badwidth for cpu matches. I'm not saying this to be mean, i'm just sayin...

^ Wow, harsh. Seriously you gotta chill, he came here to get some feedback, not have someone demoralize him. Also, if you're not saying it to be mean, then are you saying it to be nice to him? I didn't think so.

Anyways, there is one thing I agree with scotu. You really shouldn't play level 9 CPU's as they develop bad playing habits. If you just have to play a CPU, play level ones as they are easy to practice your technical skill on, but don't get to used to that either. Also, you might want to work on wavedashing, and SHL'ing lower and faster. Work on some SHFFL's too, and you'll get better in no time.

yeah, i'm sorry i really didn't mean to be mean, i just wanted to be a little sharp to get my point across, please forgive my flaming. It's difficult to gauge skill against a cpu because tech skill often doesn't look right (like cpus jabbing you out of shhfls) and there is no demonstration of a mental game. I would be happy to give serious constructive feedback if you want to post a match of you vs a friend (doesn't matter on their skill, they'll be better than a lvl 9 because they have a brain, not programming).

Agreed. But I don't ahve anyone to play, and don't want to give off my name on the internet b/c my parents will flip out. All I have to play is my 11 year old sister who mains Pikachu and doesn't have an intrest in SSBM, much less being videoed.

Try going to a tournament in your area, or something.

If you cant play anyone why practice so much?

Just think about it. I understand where you are(I had to go out and find people to play) coming from but I think your time would be better spent playing an online game. But if you want to get really good thats great. Just know that it wont really matter to anyone other than yourself since you have no one to play.

Yeah although IGXT's outlook is rather bleak it's true. Unless your friends play at the same level that you do, there's not much of a point to play. My advice, wait till Brawl than you won't have to worry about your parents restrictions because you can play online.

BTW, although your falco needs a HUGGEE amount of work, you're still the most pwnsauce 13 year old I have seen ;D. I wish my brother was that good, I tried teaching him some advanced smash but he said it was too hard and it wasn't fun so he sticks to his Naruto button spam fighters T_T.

OMG LoL im about to be 14 and your twice as good as me LoL, and I have the same issue as you.. I dont have anyone to play with, except for a tournament thats once a year and people there are like SICK with SSBM LoL... anyways I just say I approve your Smashing :p but you would really show all youve got if a human played with you..
Conclusion: Build a concentration camp and train the **** out of your friends (jk)

Anyways I disagree with some of the people that are here.. dont stop training and make the best out of what you have...

Oh... I watching those matches, I rate your falco a solid 5/10. Practise your tech skills, learn some mindgames and try to SHL a little. As others said, it is pretty difficult to gauge your skill vs. a level 9, and contrary to newer players belief, they can actually get your mindgames to deteriorate as they NEVER mix it up.

Try to play some real people (as others suggested, tourneys or school), and your sure to improve a hell of a lot. Work hard and im sure you'll do great!

Smashboards is being stupid and won't let me Edit, so I apologize; I must double post.

For inspiration, look at some of Bombsoldiers older vids. He wasn't as good as he is now, but at the time he was only 14 years old. And absolutely amazing. (If a mod could merge I'd be obliged).

Hi Maple, I'm the same age as you too. About the same skill too. I don't have a camera to record and show you. Today, I practiced just short-hopping with Falco and Marth too. It's a lot easier to kill people short-hopping. Maybe we live in the same area, who knows?
