Ever since brawl came out ive been fighting ally as a rival, ive always been a little worse than him and i need some tips to make my snake better so i can beat him (and everyone else) when he comes to socal for Genesis =D

You have an awesome Snake. I just got done watching it go the distance with Ally and I'm impressed. I'm not sure what to give you pointers on, you have the B-reverals down, pivot grabs implemented well, etc. I didn't see you jab-ftilt against that Falco or dthrow tech chase him. I'm sure you've done it numerous times before but I guess just try to implement them every match you can because they do a boatload of damage.

The Falco went for a dtilt rather then a grab gimp??? (sorry, just pointing that out)

Don't recover so closely to the edge.

And in the first match you killed Falco all 3 times with utilt... <_< so I'll blame wifi. lol

I hit like a block, ive never really asked for advice before but i need it >.<

And yeah those were wifi, very little lag though. I lost to sk92/DEHF irl. I do decent but i dont do well vs Marth, Falco, MK, or Dedede (really good ones i mean)
although i think i got marth down..... if i get a ride to scsa ill test my skill.

Anyone else wanna give a few pointers? I can add more matches if you want D: (vs bad match-ups ofcourse)

I've also never heard of you, so do you consider yourself Ally's rival, or have you actually brawled him?

Snake FORCES people into positions. Just remember that. Set your traps 10-20 seconds before they happen, predict they will happen, force your opponent into a bad position.

When I get my wii back, we can have some ditto's and you can vs my Link, Bowser, and Falcon.

I'll give kudo's if you beat my Link or Falcon.



Also work on predictability. I forgot to mention that. I'll point out things when you get more vids (as you may be less predictable then it looks like)

By the way, except your bad DI in that vid, you're Snake is much, much better then the 'good' it was in the Falco vid. Nice use of pivot grabbing, you utilized tech chasing, your grenade play was better, but you still rarely use mines/c4! Use those to setup traps! I cannot stress that enough...

Your tips helped too, i never thought of fully charging mines to kill or using an "OoS Dair" which actually seemed to work. Loosening up is a bad habit too i guess.

I pay close attention in my crit. I've been called an ******* because I'm not always this nice about it.

If you look at the metagame thread you can learn a TON that you probably wouldn't think of. < which means take a look at it. It also has useful information

Fully charged mines are the only way a mine will ko at any meaningful %, low mines are just used for low knockback into aerials, aka: a setup

Out of shield dair, you use it sometimes but you have to THINK about it. Get rid of the THINKING and just DO it. It's hard to punish, and can shield poke (which it did once in your vid)

And loosening up is a horrible habit. DOMINATE them until they are dead. Shove their face into the ground, and win. That's whay Ally does; and he does it well. No matter how high of a lead he has, he plays just as seriously as he was just about to lose. - thats what sets him apart. That mentality is HARD to reach, and thats why people are like "I play just like Ally, but I'm nowhere near as good, how come?".

God**** I wish I had more recent vids of my Snake :/ I'll try to get some when I get my wii..... I may even make another "snake video guide" of just messing around with grenades/explosives/setups that sometimes work against a CPU in training mode xD most of its situational, but its ALL sexy. lol

Grenade strip yourself, semi-cook grenades and grenades strip your opponent.

throw them above opponent and grenade strip them down

zair drop them

Short toss/medium toss/fast toss (before shield drop)

DACIT

run off stage > throw grenade behind you (me and Ally do this...lol)


Refer to our matchup guide, and outcamp him...

Also apparently "Lost my name by default" I think its meaning because Havok was already taken... but I made 3 attempts to find and brawl Havok but he was busy or didn't respond.... and I'll be going to the next tourney, so we can have the tag match.

Havok is a good MK i wouldnt tag match if i was you lulz.
