Fast gameplay does not equal intelligent gameplay. You have a very unique style with your use of Down B, Bairs and Fairs as some of your main tools. However, if you slow down your game, spend more time reading your opponent and less time approaching your opponent so aggressively, I think you'll find yourself doing a lot better. You have some pointless rolls toward the opponent in there as well as a lot of empty short hops that could have led into something but inexplicably didn't. I would suggest working on your ground game some since it's somewhat nonexistant at the moment. Jabs, Ftilts, PK Fire spacing. Consider using full hop Dairs some. They can be great for racking up damage and eventually KO combos. I really like how you use Psi magnet for stalling to get in some Bairs and Fairs but I'd be careful about overusing it. It's a nice tool but people will catch on eventually. I watched some other videos of you that were on youtube and you seem to run into some obvious traps. I really think that if you just slow things down you'll find a huge change in how well you do. Great vid. It's nice to see someone playing Lucas differently.

yes that was a completely different approach from what I use (which is a bit slower) but as Tyr said Ftilts and Jabs are great and PK fire's work wonders as long as you don't go overboard (I usually do...)

maybe some uptilts after a shorthop nair? I dunno
Dtilts are fun if you get the trip, but jab combo is better.

short hop Fairs are great but I think you used them more than the Nairs, I'd say if you balanced it and used both about equally you'd really be able to play mind games with em (and the occasional empty hop)

All and all it was a great looking lucas, I didn't see one upsmash... it's ok to get greedy XD (just one or two a match hehehe)

yea i noticed that as well; i play very aggressive and use a same pattern of movement; so i'll definitely work on the ground game;

then maybe i could switch it up and have an aggressive style + a strategic style.

and dang bowl; just read your criticism, i'll definitely try some different approaches;

i like using my upsmash / dsmash as a strategic approach but due to its lag, i get very hesitant on using it often.

Yes, good lucas. One thing I noticed was the use of your d+smash. The jab to d+smash combo was really nice but it also works for a great edge guard move .So remember that little strat for your lucas.

i like how you pressure the mario into fighting defensively almost half the time, but you need to slow your roll, and think your steps out, you seem to just go with the flow. you should step your ranged game up a little as well imo, i find lucas' that use their pk thunder to start mindgames and against me when im outside of the map and using it to hit their butts to smack into me doing like 25% rack up more damage

Pretty good most of the time, just one thing that was killing me.

PK GO****DED THUNDER

It's there. Use it. You've got nothing to lose when he's off the stage.

very fast lucas, but i noticed, some useless stuff in there. Like, sometimes you were trying to go so fast, you coulldn't think or something, you would roll, and stand there.

Calm down and think it out. Very simply, you got a skilled lucas, but look before you leap.

O and, you can improve your offstage aerial ownage a bit you know what i mean. U jump off without timing, make sure mario don't come back.

Don't roll as much. Not bad though.

Also this. (obviously not on-stage as you'll get caped but it's a great edgeguard)

Only 4-5 things you can improve on that I've seen. (it would really help)

1. I don't remember if you were ever close enough, use the snake to grab the edge :) it goes farther then it looks if your below the stage a bit.

2. Use Pk thunder to edgeguard (I sometimes even use a double PK Freeze pk freeze, freeze the freeze, then thunder :D)

3. I saw a lot of spots where you could have shield grabbed, a grab does damage to ya know :)

4. dair if you hit all 4 to jab, down tilt x 2 (should trip) side smash is a great combo

The match was ok (new one).

I would have to say that you rolled alot.
Also he should have never made a come back to make it that close =/.
Your lucky he let all those pkf hit him, cause that was sad on his part.

Rolling to much leads to your game play being figured out quickly and punished.
when you come off the ledge and land you roll backwards.
all he had to do was hit the hit stick the opposite direction and your stock was gone.
Luckly he didn't catch on, this is comming from seasoned tourny lucas.
Sidestep and run, simple...roll only if you have to
