Ranking characters?

Ok, so im new to this site so this might be somewhere. I know different people will be better with different characters, but here is my list imo.

1. Capt Falcon (my choice of playing obviously, can put 100% of a person without them getting a chance to move, can dominate your opponent like no other character can)
2. Ness (hardest to use, can be awesome)
3. Fox (great all around)
4. Pikachu (crafty, good moves)
5. Kirby (flying, and drill down ppl off ledge and getting back)
6. Dk (great grab and strong)
7. Mario (decent all around)
8. Jigglypuff (can be strong, but is weird, lol)
9. Link (bad grab, falls like a brick)
10. Samus (bad grab, no strong moves)
11. Luigi (horrible mario)
12. Yoshi (no 3rd jump)

in it you can find links to the current tier list, and you'd probably gain from reading the faq too. actually please read the faq, because i don't want you seeing the tier list and then inevitably asking why ness sucks

lol, touche. I did say its gonna be different based on a person preference. For my style Ness is just to slow. My strategy is based on combos after throwing, like my description said. If I grab you the beginning of the match I can put about 100% without giving you an opportunity to do anything. Capt Falcons weakness is lack of effective third jump. A ness back throw can kill capt falcon with around 80 or so.

i'm always surprised though that SO many people think ness is so great, yet few people come in and say kirby is obviously the best. i'd think that at a basic level kirby would be far and away the best, but what do I know about being a noob?

anyway can someone make a list of all the threads like this one and put them in the index or something lol

I feel like a Ness backthrow can kill a majority of the characters when they're at around 80.

My best characters:

1. Fox
2. Falcon
3. Pika
4. Luigi
5. Samus
6. everyone else

I would agree at a basic level kirby would be best. When im playing teams and my teammate is new to the game and dont know who to pick kirby is a good choice.

I would argue that Capt Falcon is the best when used to the maximum of the ability of any character, b/c he is so fast.

wait is this your opinion of the tier list? Or is it just a list of how good you are with different characters? Either way, I agree completely with it.

loudblazer, you're not the first person to come in here and make up a meaningless list

read the index to get a better understanding of the game and look at the actual tier list, which differs greatly from yours

if you want to become good at smash, get online and start playing people who will 5 stock you every game
