A thread to discuss, different evolutions through-out the series.

such as, give proof to why you think zora became ruto, or even why gorons stayed the same. Any ideas on this topic, post here!

How did Zoras get from this:

To this?:

My theory is that in the beginning, Ganon corrupted any creature that he could find. Later they became independent.

...Somehow, they evolved, they gained human like features of some sort because they totally wished for it by using the Triforce*shot* Nah, maybe they simply evolved over the years, gaining more human like features...or something that I can't explain.

If you follow the same timeline I follow, it makes more sence, it gose from zora to fish guys, this is because some of them evolved into gannons minions, the rest perished before ganons powers, because they refused to become his slaves. I think I read this on wiki zelda.

Yeah, the Zora began as the friendly race we know, then either: a) over time—in either one or two of the timelines—lost order and 'devolved' (so to speak) into the feral, fire-breathing fish creatures we know from the earlier games, or b) the Zora and the Zola are simply cousin species.

In PH/ST we are reintroduced to the River Zora, which are the beastial beings from old, only armed with swords (yet still retain the ability to breathe fire). This might signify that all of the games where the Zola/River Zora are featured are actually based in the Adult Timeline, following ST. Other enemies that support this notion are the land-dwelling Octoroks and Chus.

But what would make them so corrupt? I mean they were so friendly in every other game:(

Look at it...

1. Zoras lived in wonderful Hyrule.
2. Hyrule is flooded.
3. The Zoras magically evolved into the Rito (WW).
4. The River Zoras (Zolas) appear, perhaps also as evolutions, or as another species altogether.
5. The Rito remain on Dragon Roost Island while the River Zoras, brute beings, are able to swim the expanses of the sea, eventually settling in the rivers of scattered islands (PH) if they weren't native to the islands in PH's Great Sea already (which could very well be their origins).
6. The River Zora species makes it way to the land that becomes New Hyrule, being renamed the Geozard species (land-lizard), effectively and finally properly dubbing the species apart from the Zora.

So the prominent races we have are:
- Human
- Hylian
- Sheikah
- Gerudo
- Twili
- Goron
- Zora
- Rito
- Geozard
- Deku
- Kokiri
- Korok
- Minish
- Anouki
- Yeti

Note: the names River Zora and Sea Zora come from OoA. Because both types of Zoras were present in the game, those popularized by OoT/MM lived in the sea (thus Sea Zora), and those from the older games lived in rivers (thus River Zora).

^ I'd say Anouki fight in with prominent races. Two games, in both they helped Link substantially. Are you racist against penguin-men or something? Huh, is that it guy?

I'm so racist against them that I honestly forgot to add them to the list. But yeah, I genuinely hate them. They are the worst part of the DS games.

What I thought was surprising was that the Zoras went from mostly male with one female princess in OoT, to all female with one male prince in TP. Then, add more water, they turn into birds. What a confused, F'd up race of beings these poor people are.

Who's to say that all of the Zora in TP were female? They look like they could fit either gender to me.

No, not really. I mean, the female bone structure show that the hip bones are enlarged compared to the male hip bones. As you can clearly see, this is a woman-type body on account of... well... how big the hips are. Second of all, name one man who is that skinny, but has breasts like that? I would suppose that they are "supposed" to have male and female zoras in game, but probably didnt have the time or recourses to make more masculine zoras.

Then again, all gorons seem to be males. I dont know why I'm picking on zoras when gorons are just as bad.

Like I said, they seem to be designed in respect to both the male and female genders. They represent both, which probably just means that they didn't want to bother with designing different models when they didn't need to.

Jabber, you are basing it off of the human figure. Now, the Zoras being marine creatures by nature, are more than likely to have large lower body muscles than man, especially considering that they swim with their arms at their side, using only their legs to propell them. Most marine creatures appear heavily mono-sexual, so its not unlikely that Zoras would as well.

I guess the boobs help them swim too.
