quick grab release question

I have some questions about this.
As far as I knew about grab releases, you have to have their feet off the ground, but I've "jumped" out of grabs from people like kirby and luigi. Strange. I *believe* that hitting jump when you're being held somehow influences this.
Anyway, perhaps you can try DIing/SDIing downwards, or d-smashes? I would imagine that if that doesn't work, nothing else will.

if you are pummeling them as they are releasing, they stay grounded, if you simply grab them and the are released the go into the air ^^
