Hey Smashbaords! Long time lurker, first time poster asking for some assistance.

I've been messing around with the movesets and models of currently unreleased characters in Project M, (i.e. Metaknight and Kirby) since there are unused character spots in the demo. I managed to change the Character selection screen to include these characters, and added the Fit and FitMotionEtc.pac's to my SD card. But whenever I select an unreleased character, they turn into default Mario as soon as the match starts.

Was this sort of thing added intentionally to prevent fiddling with unreleased characters, or was it more of a placeholder in case an unreleased character is selected some how? If this doesn't go against the Project M Developers' wishes, does anyone know how to modify the .gct codes to allow unreleased characters to be selected?

What would be cool is a css that has every character, but with all of the unreleased characters having blacked out icons and portraits or question marks, with mario still being the result of choosing them. It would imply that the characters are locked, but that someday they will be unlocked (though not through the player's achievements).

I've seen random online scrubs freak out because of the absence of veterans on the css, so not only would this idea bring back an old smash aesthetic, but it could help with public relations.

This would cause a crapton of "How do I unlock ______?!" threads, and will highlight the thought of PM being an incomplete game.

For a game missing many characters, it seems to be the most complete and seamless brawl mod out there.
