QUESTION: Regular Brawl Composite setup LAGs on HDTV. How?

I'm participating in a local tourney, and for some odd reason the game suffers constant input lag even though the Wii is hooked directly to the TV. It's obviously not even Wi-Fi. It was hooked with regular composite (R-W-Y) cables to what looked to be a wide screen LCD HDTV.

Does anyone have an idea as to what can be causing this? Better yet, a solution?

I've managed to stay in without losing, but the lag is going to make me lose matches I shouldn't.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

You need the component video cables: red-green-blue. They are sold separately, but they completely removed the lag on my TV.

Gotta be component, homie. I've lost tourny matches because I couldn't buffer for sh*t for the first match or two of a set until I got used to the lag.

if the tv is HD, it will lag regardless. component cables will eliminate some of the lag, but not all of it.

It depends on the size of the TV. If the TV is small enough, the lag will be gone completely. I play on a 26-inch LCD, and the lag is gone. When it gets much bigger than that, yeah, lag sticks around. :(
