Question regarding classic mode 'Character Encounters'

Basically I need to get a collection of these images:

Or footage or whatever. This 'inbetweener' screen introducing the next opponent.
Is the opponents faced by each character predetermined or random (depending on difficulty)?

Help a smasher out. We're trying to put the final touches on an interstate crew battle.

Oh don't worry. I can get them myself, I just want to know whether it's predetermined by character or not. Either way I've got my recording equipment and I'll sit down to get them all myself anyway.
