Smash 3DS Question for those who have obtained all Mii hats

When you got down to just 3 left (which is where I am now), how did you go about getting those 3? What modes did you use? And approximately how many hours did it take you?

I've tried Target Blast (getting a lot of perfects too), I've sunk nearly 10,000 G into Trophy Rush. I've been all over Classic mode (both easy intensities and harder ones). I'm just getting nothing. Flat out nothing. Nothing except equips and dupes. Hell, I hardly even get hat duplicates--it's just no hats at all pretty much. Equips and custom moves (the latter of which I already have all of).

The only mode I'm not attempting is Smash Run because I almost have all powers, and I don't want to add Prince's Crown (unlocked from obtaining all Smash Run powers) to the pool of duplicates. So no Smash Run for me.

Any help???

Just keep trying. Try not to get too hooked on trying it though. I spent so long just getting Mario's hat (which I still don't have) and just gave up and I'll eventually have to end up getting it whenever I feel like playing the single player modes.

I got the first of the last 3 hats doing some target blast.
I got it in 2 days of playing normally.
The second one from a classic mode lv9
I was playing for fun, and I hadn't even noticed that the hat was in the reward screen. I also lost without knowing that the hat was there (so, it became 8.5), and luckily the hat remained.
they were fast enough to get, 1-2 days each one.
then, I had to farm for a week and half in order to get the very last one. Intensive grinding, very intensive.
It's completely random, if you're lucky you will find them faster, if you are unlucky like me, you need to go on for 2 weeks or more.
This game is very cruel.

Classic Lv9.
At the end, I only played Classic and Trophy Rush. It makes no differencce what mode you're playing.
Those two modes are the fastest.

I'm afraid it's mostly luck based which one you get, and the crux of the matter. I guess I was lucky, because I got them quickly enough, but it all depends which hat the game chooses to give you. It's the same with Smash Run powers (and I'm not so lucky there! So many duplicates! ). I would say that Classic at high difficulties, while frustrating, would be your best bet, as generally I seem to get newer items, be it hats, custom moves, equipment or trophies.

I got them all on the release day of smash 4 wii U. I have about 400 hours on it now.
I got all my new hats from doing Target Blast while watching movies. You don't need to concentrate on the 3ds much while doing target blast. I got lucky, though, I got my last hat like an hour after I got my second last hat.
