question for brawl online

when brawl comes out, it will have online play. but will this online play be with items?
will we have to play brawl competitively w/items in the game. srry if this thread has already been made. but may someone answer my question cuz im very curious

No one knows, hopefully before the fight you can choose your options, but really, I have no idea.

I'm seriously hoping for fully customizable online matches. If they're just 2 minutes matches on random stages with 4 players with all items on, I will be one unhappy Smasher.

When that happens, you share FC's and start playing matches with them.

I imagine With Anyone games won't allow any direct control over the settings. Most likely it'll be straight random matchmaking with just character/stage selection like Nintendo's other online games. There could still be multiple matchmaking lobbies, i.e. letting you pick Items On or Items Off before you start looking, but don't get your hopes up too much.

No doubt the With Friends mode will be where all the features are though. For example, we know that that's the only way to play Homerun Stadium online. In a Friends game one person will probably host, choose the settings and invite other players to their game, so I'm sure you'll at least be able to turn off items there.

Teh prozz will want:

Stage ban, no items, selected randoms, loser picks stages, Character counter picks AND NO JOHNS!

Teh no0bs will want what ever you throw at them. Usally shiny things.

If you played strikers... then you''ll know that when you play with friends you can customize everything... I would hope that when you play with friends it will be the same way in Brawl. Randomly.... probably less options... maybe specifiying things such as 1v1 or 1v1v1v1 but I'm sure stage will be random and items will be on... but maybe an on/off option... don't expect more than that for the WITH ANYONE OPTION.... cause otherwise... you're expecting someone out there to pick the same stage... the same choice of items.... it would just get too complicated...

Of course you'll be able to customize matches. It'd be a waste to have those settings if you couldn't. Everyone's going to be playing online and I'm sure the Brawl makers know those details O_O!

and just to add on.. Will ALL the characters be unlocked for online play? orr.. like, will you have to unlock them first or? Do you guys know what I mean? lol.. I mean not everyone will have every character unlocked on their own system, but what if they played online? Will they not be able to see this unlocked character that someone else is using online?

I see Brawl's online kind of like Mario Strikers Charged online.

Items will be on with anyone, and you can turn them off when playing with friends.
