QUESTION: arrows

Hey ive played link a couple times and several times, and i have a question about his arrow mechanics. Several times for reasons i cant explain i do a full jump, and shoot an arrow, BUT at the instance i shoot, Link is propelled forward very quickly. The distance is about only 1/4 or 1/5 the distance of Final Destination. I would like to know how to this because i comboed well everytime i managed to do it. Im sure everyone knows how to do it but, i would like to know also. Please help?
