Question about the final boss...

I don't want to know who it is. I just have one very simple question about him:

Who can you pick from to fight against the final boss, and can it be co-op? My roommates and I all agree that Mario and Bowser should team up to fight him, but I want to know in advance first.

you have to pick 6 characters to fight the final boss , you can take mario & bowser for the first stock but once one of you dies , you'll change characters

Six? Thats even better. There's going to be six of us wanting to play so we'll all have a shot! ^_^

well, its gonna be Pit, Sonic and Lucario for me, and Meta-knight, Link and Pikmin/Olimar for my friend Besty. (if these are all options)
