Question about putting up Shield while running

Is it me or does the shield come out kind of slow?

is it faster if i crouch -> shield? if i want to shield out of a dash or full on run.

You might be letting go of the stick before you actually shield, causing you to go into RunStop, which you can't shield during. You should be able to shield instantly during both Run and Dash.

Shield only takes a few frames to activate if you press the button down completely. If you feel it's slow compared to when someone else does it you should check your controller. Make sure to just hold down the shield button while you're running, don't stop. And, crouching before you shield doesn't make the shield come out faster, it takes longer because you crouched first.
