Question about EV training.

Ok, I'm starting a Riolu and I need this question answered.

The scenario is:

A lvl100 Zapdos VS a lvl43 Gyarados (Riolu lvl10 w/exp share on)

You battle the Gyarados, trying to get +2 ATK evs for the Riolu, you defeat the Gyarados, and Riolu gains 3 levels, would Riolu gain 2 ATK EVs or 6 ATK EVs (2 EVs x 3 Levels)?

Assuming Gyarados gives 2 Atk EVs, the former is correct.

someone should make a thread explaining EVs since theres often somebody asking a question about them
