Question about Dolphin

So when I'm playing melee on dolphin, I can't seem to find a way to have my left and right movement on the control stick be similar to that on the gamecube. What I mean is that when I barely move my control stick left or right I only dash, I can't walk at all, which makes tilts more difficult and in general movement feels off.

Is there a setting I need to change in dolphin? I use a gamecube to usb converter by the way.

Which gamecube to usb converter do you use? Gamemon?

3 in 1 magicjoy box, it is analog compatible as I have used it in other games.
