The fun question is, if observation is necessary to collapse the wave function, could an observable universe even exist without an observer? And if so, what gives rise to such an observer in the first place, if that observer originated in the universe it observes?

Although the movie seems a bit too new-age-y for my taste (I haven't seen it yet so I can't really make a complete judgement on it) I do find the double slit experiment to be really interesting.

I'm a huge fan of quantum and theoretical physics for how they like to say **** you to our limited sense of logic.
