Hey guys,

I noticed Mario can angle his foward smash either upward, regular, and downward,

what is the purpose for this?

and what does N-air mean?

The purpose of angling Mario's Fsmash is for slightly different knockback trajectories; angled up being for slightly more vertical knockback and down being a more downward horizontal trajectory.

*Nair stands for Neutral A aerial*

I´d like to add to ?????????´s post: When you get really good, you can (in theory) sweetspot with the F-smash more often by angling it. If enemy is slightly above you angle it up, if in front of you attack straight forward and if slightly lower than you use down-angled one. I still haven´t seen a player who could constantly use this effectively thought...

also you can get people as they're recovering with a downward angled f-smash

kinda hard to time but it is definitely possible

The upward angled F-smash has significantly more knockback than the other two.

You can shield poke with the Down angled one possibly.

I get more use from the stutter steped neutral F-smash though.

The Down Fsmash can be used to hit people who hang on a ledge to long. Yesterday, I used it to hit someone THROUGH the bottom of Battlefield (you know how the underside is sloped? Well, while standing on the stage, I hit the character through the stage before she could grab the ledge. It was epic win.)

Well how is it done just quickly tap your c-stick down or up after smashing or is it with A? or does it have its own kinda timing measures?

I mainly use down angled fsmash because it makes it easier to gimp your enemies recovery with your cape.

I also have a question is it possible to stutter step with a wiimote and nunchuk cause I have tried and so far I got notin

As the smash is charging, you just aim down or up, so you would smash, continue holding A, and then point up or down. Leaving the stick stationary will give you a regular forward smash.

Another way is to smash the c-stick forward and down to do the down angled forward smash. You can't do it with the up angled forward smash because you'll just short hop.

You can angle the Fsmash up with the C-stick, but it's easier to do with tap jump off first.

using the upward angles fsmash on bigger characters makes it easier to sweetspot.... well for me i think
but sweetspotting isn't that hard to begin with and it is probably not worth the effort.

i can't seem to get the downangled fsmash to hit on the ledge.... it has too little range to hit the opponent before they can get the invul. from grabbing the ledge..... i think caping is almost always the best option. or some fireballs maybe

I live on P.E.I. Never heard of it? It's in Canada
Also, when you're both on the ground, a fmash angled upward does more damage (1% usually, not significantly more, amounting to 15% damage as opposed to the usual 14%) and angled down does less (again, usually 1% less). Headshot//knee shot.

I discovered this simple trick when I first started using Mario, and it's been infinitely useful. I've learned to angle stutter stepped fsmashes and turnaround fmashes, bypass shields and sweetspot every time (exaggeration). This is possible because upward or downward angled fsmashes go shorter distances because of their angles, and this knowledge combined with turned around fsmashes gives Mario quite the range to sweetspot with. Practise makes perfect.
