While Jiggs is an above average character with cool moves and fighting style the Jiggs of SSB doesn't really reflect the character of Jgglypuff's original games. (Flying, good aerials, crazy "rest") It'd be cool if a character with very similar moves was put in but one that made sense to fly and have a high knockback down speacial. Most likely Jiggs will be put in and be very similar to previous SSB incarnations which is fine. I certainly won't argue against inclusion of characters.

Whoever started this stupid thread is a ******* noob. And anyone who agrees with him is worse. I can guarantee you that Jigglypuff will be in brawl. I don't even need to give you reason because it's so clearly undebatable.

ALL the SSB characters will return. confirmed by common sense. Not all of the new character to SSBM are confirmed.

Heres my opinion.

Brawl has too many multi jump chars, eg. Charizard, Pit, Kirby, Metaknight.

I also remember reading somewhere that Jigglypuff, as well as Doc etc, were fillers in Melee, and that Jigglypuff, I'm assuming, was supposed to be replaced by Balloon Fighter or someone of the sort. (Thus, the beta and the Music.)

There are plenty of other Pokemon to choose from, with 4 from the first generation, i think that Brawl should stop there with the first gen chars and expand into the other generations.

Honestly, the more the merrier, but if i had the choice of having a character from a different series, I'd rather have him/her.

TOO MANY POKEMANZ

Also, wtf, Jigglypuff isn't a dud... But what i hoped in Brawl was that Kirby has the weight of Jigglypuff, so that he can WoP. I mean, WoP is the main reason for Jiggs amiright? Besides rest combos i guesssss.

Also, with Ice Climbers returning, anything can really happen now.

ALL the SSB characters will return. confirmed by common sense. Not all of the new character to SSBM are confirmed.
Jigglypuff was popular during that time, basically the prime of the Pokemon series. Now, Pokemon is obviously less popular then it was before, and so have a lot of the pokemon.

I very much doubt Jigglypuff will be taken out for Brawl. Not only is she an original n64 cast member, she's become almost as recognized an icon of the game as mario/link/pikachu/kirby.

Secondly, of all the pokemon characters they could add, there are few that deserve a spot more than Jigglypuff. Jigglypuff, next to Pikachu himself and Meowth of course, had probably the most regular involvement in the early storyline of the cartoons, and, if i'm not mistaken, probably still does. Many pokemon came and went during the show, but she was always around to put everyone to sleep on accident and be pissed off about it. To put it simply, there are few pokemon "bigger" than Jigglypuff. She is one of the most known pokemon, for sure.

Thirdly, there's no reason, from a smashing standpoint, to remove her. She, being only the 2nd of 2 puffball-type pokemon, and a pioneer of multiple jumps, which now appear to have been included much more freely into brawl, is indeed very unique. Certainly more unique than many other characters in the melee lineup. No one shares her moves, all of which are very unique and useful in their own ways.

I can understand you not liking a character, that's fine. But don't just assume that because you don't, that means they won't be around for brawl, especially one as big as her.

That said, Lith17, I do think they will be removing at least a few of Melee's cast for Brawl. I'm sure people are sick of just hearing "Sakurai said not everyone will necessarily return." The way I see it, in those pairs of players, those that shared the same moveset, if they were different enough to call for very different playstyles, they have a chance to remain in it. If, though, the general strategy of the two characters is the same, it's probable one is going to be gone. To me, this means Doc, Pichu, and, though it pains me to say, Y.Link. C. Falcon and Ganondorf are clearly unique enough to both stick around, and despite their shared moveset, their speeds are completely different. Marth and Roy are a tougher call, but I think they're unique enough that both might remain. However, I'm much less certain of this after a certain confirmed new arrival. And Falco and Fox? I don't know where they fall in my example. In any case, just my opinions...

Yeah popularity in US,not Japan........I mean come on they have a freaking amusment park thats themed after pokemon! they come out with more games! and are currently, last time i saw, still on the top 10 most sold games in the U.S. after being out since April.....and thats both Diamond and Pearl.......so please don't say Pokemon is dead, I don't really see pokemon dying away soon.

Why the hell would they take out ness for Lucas? Ness is a mainstay and was one of the most original movesets throughout the franchise.
Well Ness wasn't meant to be in melee. He was gonna be replaced by someone from Mother 3 from N64. The game was never finished and so they kept Ness. The franklin badge in brawl is model after a badge they gave you in japan for Pre ordering Mother 3 for the GBA. I want Ness but things look bad for him.

No, Jigglypuff should'nt be taken out; he's a unique character. And if he should be removed because of unpopularity, you might as well remove G&W and Ice Climbers, too.

He's one of the original 12, I think he should stay.

I'm thinking people want Jiggs out because they just don't realise how powerful the Rest attack is, or because they suck at that attack. Sure Rest causes Jiggs to not be able to move for a short duration, but it has the highest knockback of all uncharged moves, and gives the most damage.

They're not gonna boot out Ness, a character now recognized by all Smash fans, for a character most American gamers have NEVER heard of.

Oh, and Jigglypuff will stay too.

yeah she [he] is a veteran. why should she leave when she is also original and has an original moveset? i hate having to explain this about everyone who is apparently "going to leave". no veteran is leaving besides a few clones.
