i think that brawl would be a good start for nintendo to start with downloadable content. it would be a great way for clones or lesser known characters to make it into the game (this will be fine as long as they are still BALANCED).

If there are online tournaments (which im hoping there will be) then it wont matter as the people that cant get online to download the new characters, cant get online to join them... offline tournaments tho... good point. I can see stuff like this becoming banned from tournaments, or at least some thorough debate about it.

I agree wholeheartedly with Pegasus Knights solutions. If Nintendo really wanted downloadable content, they would find a way to cope with any problems.
