The first thing that came to my mind after reading the thread title was, "lol Standby in Brawl!"

Anyway, n00bs unplugging the router to give up is pretty much inevitable. Personally, I think that every person that does that should be falcon punched.:laugh::laugh:

Well from my understanding since its anonymous, who really cares? The purpose of this board is provide a place where smashers from all around the world can join up. With the addition of online multiplayer, we can obviously exchange friend codes so that we can keep in touch.

From my understanding, if a friend drops in a friend game, the player will not be replaced. If someone wants to keep disconnecting from the game, then let them, and do not play with them anymore. A league will run things with league officials and such so I'm not too worried about it. If its just general friends that you have a problem with, simply do not play them anymore.

I really think everything will work out fine, except for the fact that everyone needs each other's friend codes. I am working on a system with some other forum goers in an attempt to make this process much simpler for everyone.

Also, it would be great if online stats could record the amount of "disconnects" (similar to starcraft's battle.net stats) so that if someone has a frequent problem disconnecting that you can avoid battles with him or her.

Competitive play will be limited to Friend Code play, not "Anyone" mode, which is the only mode in which a CPU takes over play for a disconnected player.

In short, this thread need not exist.

That is true, but the same thing applies for no computer replacing the player, it's a disconnection, and not all friend-code matches are going to be between friends. What if a rival system is implemented? Then it may become a very accurate example (rather than ignoring no-CPU's in friend matches) .

Also, we never know what may occur in between the demo and final release. I'm just using those examples to get my point across.

I don't think you can reconnect, seeing as there's no rooms in With Anyone and there's no way to find the game you were in.

I'm sorry, but your using effect instead of affect really irked me.

Also, people aren't going to be able to reconnect, and there isn't going to be a rival system.

I thought comps didn't take over in friend fights... also, I don't think you can re-connect to a previous online fight either.
