The margin of time required to cast a spell, if it isn't the same as a psionicist's, is enough to react to a psionicist's power.

If that's the case, then I'd say wizard wins with diversity and a larger bag of tricks.

Of course, this is all theory and opinion for the majority of it. If anyone else thinks otherwise, go for it! My word's not law, despite what I'd like to think sometimes. I'm sure other people think differently and have different ideas than I. I mean, if not, why is there such an overwhelming predisposition to psionics here? ^_^

now... if the psychic could blow up the magician with just a thought, i think that he could cream the magician because even if the magician just has to blink to do something, he'd still be pwned because taking a second to think about blowing up the other guy, blinking, and then it happens is still slower than thinking of blowing up the other guy and then it happens...

and you can always make the magician think he's blowing you up but then it doesn't really happen. why do you think people that can magically wavedash are defeated by people that can trick you into doing stuff wrong?

i know that i was going somewhere with this but i'm too lazy to arrange my ideas properly...

You discount the magician's abilities. He can just as easily create an illusion to make the psychic think he blew the magician up. ^_^

no, if you're Psychic then you could have access to all knowlege, any trick would be useless, cause you could view anything in existince using your mind.

If we're talking about an absolutely all-knowing psionic, we can talk about an absolutely all-knowing magician. Any tricks on the magician would be equally as useless. In fact, they have spells that allow them to see through illusions. Easy spells that can do that, in fact. ^_^

I know I use it too much. I also have a tendency towards XD. Meh, you'll just have to live with it.

I honestly couldn't speak concerning movies. I rarely see them. Prove it or you fail seems to be a rather harsh penalty however, as there are points before these last few posts that I still retain, I believe.

But I can certainly speak for games. Dungeons and Dragons, probably THE largest roleplaying game out there, has a ton of magic involved in it. One of the earlier spells you can learn is literally the ability to see through every single illusion. Other spells, while not seeing through them, can detect them. Yet even more spells can dispel them, wiping them away. The mage has many options pertaining to the school of illusion.

I look at Magic beating Psychic as me outsmarting Ken in smash.

It's pretty hard trying to outmsart someone who is generally smarter than you... Because they will always be a step ahead.

I'm pretty sure the Psychic would want you to waste your time creating an anti-psychic bubble or whatever it's referred to as, it won't help you anyhow if you have no idea what to do right off the bat.

You don't comprehend what Psychics are capable of, I on the other hand play tons of games with mages and magic and I've never came across an "anti-psychic" spell.
Even if there is such a thing, psychics just have too many options in their arsenal.

You don't understand what magicians are capable of. How many of those magic games had psionics included? It would be a pointless spell if the game had no psychic stuff...

And how in the effing world do you have psionicists with more variety than mages? Psionicists are limited by the mind, mages are limited by the arcane forces. Which are infinitely less limiting.
