Is "light pillaring" actually inescapable, or is it like SK92's Jab > grab where it just throws the opponent off so that you will often be able to get it in.

I was playing a ROB and the first time I did it it worked fine, then every time after that he Dsmashed out of it, so either I'm too slow or it's technically escapable. ROB's Dsmash comes out in like 3 frames or something, so it is one of the faster ones. If it is technically escapable we should make a list of who we can try it on without getting punished (like lucario, slow Dsmash) and who we can be punished by (in my experience ROB).

It's inescapable to an extent. If you don't fastfall the shorthop dair, they'll have some frame opportunity to tech out of it. I'd say if done perfectly, it's inescapable until they stop landing on their feet. They usually roll away avoiding your next grab at around 35%. I try and predict and fsmash to where I think he's rolling. Here's all the information you need on the pillar chaingrab.

It works for like two throws depending on the character and then after that it can be easier to escape.
