Proxy mines on platforms.

Well, I searched around and didn't find anything (sorry if this is already known).

So I was messing around with proxy mines on platforms at battlefield, and I noticed that when I put a proxy mine on one of the low platforms then stand under it and jump it doesn't explode. After messing around some more I found out that if you fast fall through the platform the mine is on it won't explode. This lead me to the conclusion that the only way to detonate a proxy mine is either to land on the ground near it or attack it. So if your about to hit a mine on a platform, just fast fall and you'll be fine. This helped me a lot in snake ditto games.

What do you guys think? (if this isn't already well known)

I had no idea this worked. Thanks for this. Now it's time to trick my friend to land on the mine. I want to try this out so badly. I don't have a Wii at the moment. But, I will be getting one soon. Do you need to fast fall right on top of it? Or, can you just fast fall at any position to go through it?

Great catch but this just means that when you do it once then your opponent will know how to do it and then whatever proxy mines you have placed will become useless

^^Yes, it might be better to use proxy mines just on the ground, and c4 on the platforms.

To answer Cecilanius's question, as long as you don't do the landing animation in the mine's detonation area, it shouldn't explode, so you can fast fall where ever you want lol, as long as you fast fall.

Can you hit a proxy from underneath?

I'm pretty sure I've been thrown/hit up into a proxy on the central platform and didn't 'land' before it blew.

I'm not sure about the proxy exploding or not when your thrown into it, but I think that counts as attacking the mine. Your head and torso can go through if from underneath as long as you don't land on it.
