Hi! Lately when I play with Snake, I run into problems against players like Pit, Ice Climbers or anyone with projectiles. Is there any way for snake to get past projectile spams? So far, the only method I know of is using the Nikita but it it rather hard to control. Are there any other methods? Thanks alot!

If my opponent is using a lot of projectiles. I usually air dodge off the ground. (Pressing jump and shield in a certain direction.) It brings you closer and also gives you some protection.

A lot of projectiles can be block by Snake's attack. Holding down A can block some projectiles. (D3's Waddle dee's and doo's.) Just try and see which attacks work on the spammable projectiles that you have trouble with.

When facing someone like Pit, you can just side step dodge his arrows. Or, do the method I said in the first part of this post.

Also, when facing Ice Climbers, you can probably dtilt the icicles. Or, just simply jumping over em'. I never had much trouble with the icicles...or whatever they are.

Many projectiles you can crawl under. For Pit, maybe you can do it for one arrow if it's not a good player, but otherwise, airdodge or side-step. Also, Ice Climbers' ice things are not ideal attacks to dtilt. They'll hit you even if you get one. Try a nikita, or something like that. I dunno, I really haven't played any Ice climbers. Maybe Rusty'll have something to say.

Yeah, the dtilt isn't that great. I was just thinking of an attack on the top of my head that could block it. Not saying it should be used in a match unless necassary. Which I don't even think its necassary when you can just jump over them.

Something that could stop them from using their projectiles for a little bit is quickly throwing a grenade at the opponent. I wouldn't throw it fast because it would probably just fly off the edge. Just press B and let go...that's all you really need to do. Once the grenade gets near the IC, it will most likely explode because of the swing of their hammers plus the icicles. Same also goes with Pit. But, be a little more careful if you are throwing grenades at him.

Once you are close to the IC, I would sidestep dodge. Because, I don't think you want to be grabbed like crazy. :p Personally, I would short hop into an airdodge once I am right next to the IC. Just to get some space and be able to attack as soon as you hit the ground.

Haha, I forgot about the cypher! It's good for getting near your opponent. Just get ready to airdodge frequently after it.

Hmmm...I have another question. How do you time the dash shields to block projectiles at the right moment? I seem to get hit before the shield even goes up (and please don't say very carefully). Also, since wolf's projectile is too big to crawl under, how do you deal with that? Thanks again!

Heh, well, what you need to do is practice power shielding. Its the best way to get through Wolf's blaster spam. Just get used to the timing. I do it all the time now against Wolf players. Just be ready for a fsmash. :chuckle:

Your shielding needs to precise. So, basically shield right when the projectile is near your body.

Just get two controllers and go into training mode. Set one controller to Wolf and another to who you want to practice with. Just spam B with Wolf and get used to shielding with the other character. (Yeah multitasking...blah.) A turbo controller works wonders. :p
