I think one way to tell who your mains are is by asking yourself who you'd be quite upset to lose with.

Unrelated: I've been wondering about this for a while now. When I look at Lucario, I see a mediocre character outclassed by most others. Yet people insist that he's good. What is it about him that makes him a sound choice for a main?

Strong, fast, dash dance -> zero death, excellent recovery, consistent kill confirms. What do you see in him that's bad? Low range? Bibber, check that fair hitbox.

Um...
Faster than most, yes, but bottom of the highest tier.
dash dance -> zero death
I don't think I've seen this, and it certainly does not appear to be consistently possible.
excellent recovery
Meh. He can cover a lot of distance, I'll say that.
consistent kill confirms
Besides down throw nair?

What do you see in him that's bad?
The only relevant distinguishing factor he has from the rest of the cast is magic series, and that only means that he can build up damage a bit easier if all the hits connect. Otherwise, he's just an average to bad character on every other factor. His edgeguarding capabilities are almost nonexistent, and his neutral is one-dimensional and limited. I see no reason to play him besides liking his cancels.

What I meant above was that he has a strong and fast dashdance. The character's initial dash speed is 1.75, which is the same as MK's initial dash speed, so he's certainly not slow. MK and Lucario both have 10 dash frames, so their lengths on it are decent, even if Lucario doesn't gain as much distance per dash length because he's slower.

I've seen Rongunshu ztd people plenty of times. It's definitely possible. His cancels are insanely good, yeah, but he has other redeeming factors. Character is slightly overrated since Rongunshu started doing things, but that's because it's a kneejerk reaction. I'd put the character around the 14-20 mark. Hard to place it exactly, but he's not likely top ten in my books.

The one night I don't go to my local someone brings PM.

Life is suffering. I just wish to play PM with someone offline and not netplay;;

Has the Even Bigger Balc started yet? I can't find any stream on it or if it has even started.

Dunno. You’d think the boards would put that info in the promo article but I guess not.

But you could have gone on any night and brought PM yourself; what stopped you?
I only have PM set up on my computer and I don't have an SD card (that can be easily edited.)

The only way I can edit my SD cards now is by putting them in my 3DS, connecting it to the Wi-Fi, then editing it through my PC. :')

Uhh why is that the only way you can edit your SD cards lol? Are you aware that SD card adapters exist?

I'm @Zhreem on Twitch btw

First day went pretty well. Had some upsets, like Hyperflame and Pikmon not making it to Top 64. Insane Doubles run by Yador and Tealz's Team Dreamland, and a pretty good showing from The Boys Techboy and Dirtboy. Should be an interesting bracket tomorrow.

I...don't think anyone is overrating Lucario cause of Brad. His recent results are super good but not anything that would cause anyone to think the character is busted, especially since a lot of it has been with his Marth as well.

I know this is old, but it really sounds like you know nothing of the character. His grounded speed is among the best in dash speed and walk speed. He has the first or second fastest dash acceleration, and reaches his top dash speed faster than any other character. He’s a bit slow in the air despite a normal air speed because he has the second worst air acceleration in the game. He has the 12th best DD, and IIRC the 16th fastest SHFFL. Plus he is tied with the fastest jump squat at frame three.

He has consistent, strong kill options with nair, bair, uair, and confirms off his magic series. Not sure if you’re aware, but ftilt -> Force Palm is also guaranteed on shield. First hit dair -> Spirit Bomb is a kill confirm off a missed tech (you need the SH to be stationary). First hit dair -> FP is a strong meteor smash, and one of the strongest spikes in game with aura. It’s also one of the strongest throws in the game with aura (I think it is the strongest?), and a guaranteed kill confirm from ftilt on shield. Aside from this, dsmash comes out from 12, and usmash comes out starting from 10. Given how you can ASC his smashes, and how fsmash has such range, his smashes have much less end lag provided they even connect with so much as shield. The main problem with Luc in the killing department is his reliance on sweetspots. He has Marthritis issues at times.

Also what Luc players have you been watching do dthrow -> FP? That’s inconsistent as hell. That’s scrub tier play.

How is his neutral trash? He has a very good DD, one of the best grounded movement speeds on top of two cancelable burst movement options, a good SHFFL, a projectile to force options out of the opponent, and he breaks CC at 0% with a sweetspotted dtilt and usmash. And have tried firing a Spirit Bomb away from the ledge, then grabbing it? It covers all the opponent’s options for recovering.

People who think Mr. Game and Watch shouldn't be able to jump out of up b

G&W Mains

PM Devs
IIRC Last time I asked Dakpo about it he wanted it kept, and I'm a former dev that thinks it should remain so neither category is a monolith

You just have to post something worthwhile to talk about. As far as I can tell, only the two newest SSB games have people invested in discussion on here.
