I pick whatever stage I feel like picking unless the other person says they don't want to play certain stages beforehand. You never said anything and I got tired of playing on the same stages.

EDIT: What hidden rule says you can't play Rainbow Cruise one on one?

One of what? I don't self-destruct because the opponent picks a stage I don't like. I don't like that Yoshi stage we played on but I still played on it.

Also be wary of picking smashville, I think it may be explicitly my Wii or my copy of Brawl or both, but the game will crash at some point if it's played on. It doesn't do it all the time though. So just putting that out there.
