Project M for Smash 4 Reality or Dream?

Should the PMDev team or some other team make a game with Melee's mechanics but with Sm4sh roster?

I have put a lot, and i mean a lot of time, into thinking about if the PMDev team should update Project M so it includes Sm4sh characters or if the community wants an updated version for the Wii U exclusively! I want to hear all of the community in this idea!

PMDT said they won't. If someone else picks up the work I guess that's cool, just no L-Cancelling.

I used to be for a PM-esque for Smash 4, but now I don't really care. Despite needing some changes, I think Smash 4 is in a great spot.

Its a bit too soon to be doing any thing related to SM4SH and ploping it into PM.
Maybe after smash 5 but right now I doubt it.

This is interesting. I like the idea because I think melee and smash 4 have strong competitive depth for different reasons. Melee has strong movement options and a very interesting game based on spacing and throwing out hit boxes at the right time, along with DI chasing. Smash 4's strong defensive options such as air dodges adds more finesse into combing and following up, with a lot of rock-paper-scissors situations that add a lot of mix-up and read depth. Both have what the other have, but not to the same extent. What if we mixed strong movement options of melee with the strong defensive options of smash 4 (and it's superior roster/stage list), I wonder if something beautiful and unique can be discovered. Of course, that relies on it not just trying to be melee, but if this does become I thing I know I will be and evangelist of movement options+Defensive options if project M4 becomes a thing.

I'd be more interested in something that adds onto what 4 already has, to be honest. We've already got Melee 2, do we really need Melee 3?

What if someone modded in something like an Adventure Mode for Smash 4?

Yeah, I agree. I really like the idea of adding some melee ike mechanics to smash 4, specifically the increased movement options.

And who knows, an adventure mode might be coming in DLC. Sakurai did say something about modes...

I know there is going to be a huge influx of stupid and facetious arguments to this topic, but I will just say that I think there is just as much value and validity to this becoming a reality as their was to the first Project M. Project M was not made to surpass Melee or to replace Brawl. I do not feel the need for there to be a Project M 2 to fix Smash U. I love Smash U. Still, I think it would be wonderful to see what characters like Rosalina and the new revamped Zero Suit Samus would play like in a Melee like environment. The fact that we have new characters to the roster, more stages and way better graphics is an even better reason. I completely understand why the development team would not do it. It would be a huge time investment. But it would be bad ass none the less.
