Product Key Help

I recently reformatted my computer. The program files from the old system remained, and I found that I didn't need to reinstall the Age of Mythology series- or so it seemed. It won't play online without me reinstalling it, and to reinstall it I need the product key. I no longer have the containers the game came in! Is there a legal way of obtaining the product key on the CD?
